I manage to download all Trailers, Demos, Etc 1000mb

in about 7-10 minutes tops.

Resistence, Vegas, Motorstorm online is fun and never lags.

40 player online never misses a beat.

And it's free.

For what it does, Online play and home network this fall. and all for FREE it's really not that bad.

It's probably not as good as xbox live (I don't own a PS3 I'm just guessing) but most lemmings tend to bash it because PSN is free and their online is 50 dollars a year.

Its the same reason people say the ps3 is much more powerful than the xbox 360, or that the ps3 sucks etc... Just dont pay too much attention. But I have to say, Home is nothing to get excited about.

No for the online play is just as good as XBL.

Online play is online play.

Except MS charges you for it.

Things take longer to download on PSN, but the online multiplayer with dedicated servers are much better than P2P imo.

It's not depending on who's faster PSN or XBL, it depends on the speed of your internet provider. For example, when I was living up in New York for a while, the download speed of my XBL was SLOOOOOOOW but when I moved back home, the speed is FAAAAAAAAST.

So, if I had a PS3 and the Xbox 360 hooked up to the same ISP, it'll be at the same speed sometimes which also relies on the servers of either Sony or MS.

I never ever ever had a single problem with Downloads on PSN or XBL.

Connected wired to the Same Router Linksys.

Since launch.

Maybe I'm special but for me it's the same speed for XBL and PSN

2MB every 1 second. :)

Well I DL stuff at Odd hours of the day in Upstate New York.

I never get disconnects or Slow Downloads with PSN or XBL.

Yeah, but honestly there is NO true way to say who's faster at all. Because there are so many variables that is taken into context here.

I had not tried the PSN yet but I am planning to buy a PS3 by October possibly.

both are fine xl and psn that is, altho i do find that xl has afew more features, but these features are being worked on for ps3 via a firmware, this then means i think the ps3 has equal or superior online, superior for having the same stuff for free.

Xbox Live is not as good as the lemmings make it sound....it IS laggy but not 24/7, but nobody can do anything about that because most of the games are laggy because of the peoples connections.

PSN is fast for me o_O and I have a standard cable connection.. not to mention I rarely get lag on PSN while on Live I get lag all the time because of crappy P2P .. not to mention Host Advantage >_> Why do we pay for Live again? Yeah, they have a few extra features and currently more content than PSN but.. as for quality.. I'll be one to be to differ.

Tell me about it on a fort night while playing Graw 2, Gears or Vegas on 360.

I get dropped from random rooms left and right because of Lag issues. Effing Sucks I happen to pay for this too.

Join a Game, Wait in Lobby, Play game for 30 minutes, Room gets dropped.

Repeat cycle.

In my experience, the only reason Live is better is because of the games. If PSN had online games like Gears or Halo, then the difference would be small. Also in my experience, PSN is a lot faster. For a 700 MB file it will take around 20 minutes on PSN. On Live, it always takes around an hour. I don't know if it's because theres more users or what. But when a new demo shows up, I begin DL'ing, have dinner, have a shower, and usually it's done. But curtainly not always. And thats another reason why Live is better at the moment. It has lots of demos! People will argue though (and they would be right) that features like chatting, and 'friends' type of things are better on Live. But I barely use that stuff so it doesn't matter to me. I find lag depend on the game. Gears can be a pain when it comes to lag. Rainbow Six is uaually good. Crackdown was just awful. Motorstorm wasn't that great until the first patch came. Resistence has been pretty decent so far.

I just got my PS3, and haven't had a chance to play any games online, but for what it's worth, I've noticed that strictly for downloading at night, PSN isn't nearly as fast as XBL. I had an enormous amount of trouble downloading the latest update for the system (1.9) at night, whereas I was able to download it fairly painlessly in the morning. While XBL isn't light years faster overall (at least from what I've seen), there hasn't been quite as much of a drop in bandwidth during "peak hours". But hey, I'm not paying for the PSN, so I'm not really complaining.

And yes, I'm well aware of they myriad reasons why my downloads are slow, but as they're the same issues for both systems (wireless, time of day, use of bandwidth, etc.), I figure it's still a fair assessment.

PSN is good if you have never played on xbl. Live is just alot better put together and integrated with games in such a way that u feel no disconnection from the game.

downloads are a joke on psn. They take way too long when my live downloads are quick. I am not sure what is up with sony's servers but they need some major reworking as soon as possible.

Look people bash the psn online because its free, they assume that just because u pay for xbox live its superior, not true, they both do the same things and evetually homes gona come out makin psn more interactive , by alot. Remeber jus because its free the quality doesnt diminish, try it out before bashin.

If you have a Cable modem, downlaods are just as fast as XBL (unless gamers are attacking the servers with download requests, like when the Sigma demo came out...sheesh..people were goin crazy for it)
Anyways, the Dedicated servers are better IMO and have the same features and stuff, and you don't need your friend to sign into anything when bringing them into a game on the same console.

I dl through wifi which takes forever especially when the demo just came out. I wish they had the feature where you could turn off and still dl like the 360 since its hot and I do not want to leave unneeded electronics on. As for gaming I barely game online but never having lagging problems maybe choking thats all.

online gaming is online gaming. ive played resistance with 34 people and it was fine with no lag and headsets running the same with motorstorm, the difference between XBL and PSN are the stores. Right now ofcourse XBL has the advantage of content, if you were to asses the stores without factoring content available then there pretty much the same, i personally find PSN alot faster were i live, i managed to download a 1gb file in 30minutes where as it took my friend over an hour, on XBL it takes me 2 hours for 400mg were my friend can download it in 15 minutes. i prefer the look of the PSN store but others prefer the look of XBL, like i said if you take out the content factor there exactly the same

1. psn is not regional so, you get everyone on earth. so, lets say you wanted to play rb6. the host is in france, good luck. its horrible.

2. its free. you get what you pay for, in this case nothing.

3. its horrible, laggy, dropy and choppy. and no service. the Japanese can careless about online gaming. they are non violent, therefore never think of it as a necessity. like vF5, are you kidding no online support for a fighting game. who are you going to play? a prime example, of being clueless of what people want in a gaming service. but, yet they wanna bring us "HOME" which has nothing to do with what i want a better online gaming service.
