Why is everyone so against Nintendo going third party?

Same here. Nintendo is the last remaining reason for me to still buy a console once in a while. If they go 3rd party, it'll be 100% PC. No need for me to buy MS or Sony's sub-PCs.

I like how you didn't mention handhelds in your post. Especially since how great the DS was. Hmm... BTW, Iwata has stated several times that the day Nintendo stops making hardware is the day stop making games altogether.

EDIT:As for "terrible at making consoles", Wii was the one of the best-selling consoles in the long time, yet you think they should go 3rd party. WTF?

Because Nintendo's Ideas and Creativity will be gone when that happens.

Nintendo can make games but if they have an idea (like 3D without Glasses) they'll make it happen and make a game that would incorporate the idea.

How is Nintendo terrible at making consoles when everyone in the freakin' world almost has a Wii.

Exaggeration, for system wars because I know someone people here don't know what that is..

Play Monster Hunter Tri online before you talk about how horrible the Wii's online is. That game is one of the best online game I tried on the Wii.

I would love it!!! the only games worth getting on nintendo consoles are nintendo games at this point, well mostly a few from previous gens come to mind, but I wont be purchasing another nintendo console. Ive given them over 25 years of my 32 on this planet, buying every nintendo console and I vowed not to buy the wii because I just know their game plan, drum up excitement for legit 3rd party and hardcore support and then take a steaming dump on everyone. Im officially out nintendo, so good luck... put yeah, pass me zelda and Ill be happy.

Let's face it. They are terrible at making console's, but make FANTASTIC games. Hardly anything sells on their consoles from third partys, which is why the support is dreadful. Only Nintendo made games usually sell well on their systems. Why buy a console for only one companys game's? Nintendo going third party would be a great idea IMO. That way we can have a Great console ALONG with the fantastic Nintendo games. Why would you against this? That way you dont have to pay $300 to wait every year for 2-3 games to play on it.

Xbox and PS are just poor man PC's with pretty much watered down PC games, if made for PC would have been better.

And it's not like it's a vote. Besides, Nintendo will rather go out of business than go third party, they said that themselves. And I think that's good.

sega sega and did i mention sega. as soon as they became third party the quality of there games drastically went down. the best sonics are sill the one on the dreamcast,genesis and gamegear.

also its possible they wouldnt want to go third party as theres an interview stating they wouldnt do that.

price is a big issue. without nintendo the prices of consoles would go up because they always have the cheapest console and they make FANTASTIC Handhelds

finally, nintendo keeps providing a unique gameplay experience and are the innovaters to gameconsoles. motion controls,analog,tablet gaming,3d gaming like mario 64 all would have taken a lot longer if nintendo didnt exist.
