I mean, come on guys. It's a brilliant console. I always hear cows/lemmings whinge about the gaming draft, but I never really noticed this to be honest... not till 2006 anyway. It had so many quality games, what's everybody's problem with it?

fanboyism.. no seriously it had many great games till 2005... 2006 sucked big time though (aside of TP which was for Wii)farnhamChibi-Robo?
I loved my gamecube and the select few great titles it had! Gamecube had two of my three favorite game last gen, Metroid Prime and RE 4! Its a shame that more 3rd party support didn't come, Thank god for Capcom releasing RE's and Viewtiful Joe!I mean, come on guys. It's a brilliant console. Well because the N64 was so amazing and the Cube was not... Only good games for it seemed to be first party, and no real 3rd party support. Compared to PS2 and Xbox.I mean, come on guys. It had very few good games.Kayrod29It had lots of very good games, just most of them were dismissed as "t3h kidday".
Also how the heck was i suppose to play sports games on that horrible controller? That controller was complete garbage for multiplats.-Sir-Poof-This may just me being a sheep, but since GameCube was my first home console, it's the pad I feel most comfortable with.
[QUOTE="-Sir-Poof-"]Also how the heck was i suppose to play sports games on that horrible controller? That controller was complete garbage for multiplats.Teh_StevzThen you must not have played Fifa, Burnout, NHL and Tiger Woods on it. NHL 2003 pwned.
Ive played all 4 of those games and own 3 of them all on my PS2 cause the dual shock had such a better feel.
^^ No, that's inexperience and youth.JandurinInexperience with home consoles, but I had a GameBoy for 4 years before I got a GameCube.

:|... :? Odd. Thats the same as me. Me and my bro felt hardly any difference between them. Still a good game on either machine. Then you must not have played Fifa, Burnout, NHL and Tiger Woods on it. As big a Playstation fan as I am, I owned a Gamecube as well. My main reason for owning the Gamecube was because Resident Evil went exclusive to it for a while. However I also bought Smash Bros (love that game), all the Zeldas (including TP), Mario Kart and Soul Calibur 2. The reason I didn't play it much was because while it did have some great games... they were few and far between. After Resident Evil 4 came out for it, there was not another title that came out for it that I wanted until Zelda TP. That was almost 2 years of me buying ZERO Gamecube games.I mean, come on guys. Exactly no matter what Multiplats were better on opposing consoles.
No one hates the Gamecube, it's just the fact that there are too many people who try to make it out to be more than it really was. The Gamecube had some pretty fun games, but the library was a little lacking, always was. There were plenty of people who were content to play Mario Sunshine, Mario Golf, Mario party, Mario Tennis, Mario Soccer, Mario baseball and Metroid Prime with some Animal Crossing and Pikmin thrown in for good measure. Truth is it had so many quality NINTENDO games, and if you weren't into those, well then you were pretty much out of luck. Gamecube did not offer all that needed to be offered to get the fanbase to make it a success. Was it a bad console? Course not. Could it have been much much better? Obviously. Don't let non-fans get you down UKNintendoFreak.I mean, come on guys. It's a brilliant console. Lack of third party support
Game shortages
Had no DVD playback
Had a lack of more mature games
Again, massive game shortages
Many people thought a lot of Nintendo's franchises weren't up to par with earlier entries, like Super Mario Sunshine, and the Starfox series
These aren't my reasons, these are your average person here's reasons.
