I highly doubt Halo 4 would be as good as the originals. One of the reason is it is a new company and it becoming more CoD like. The thing I enjoyed most about Halo was it's uniqueness (if that is a word).

ARMOR LOCK
the lack of the chief
No battle rifle
Horrible multiplayer maps
Invasion.....meh
The story was good, but not good enough.
i disliked it and im long term halo fan
bought xbox just for halo 1 and enjoyed it with my friends
played the living crap out halo 2
same with halo 3
very much enjoyed odst. kinda wish a odst 2 come
but reach i played the game about month and was pretty much done with it. i don't even have the disc no more if Microsoft didn't give me free copy on my gamertag i wouldn't touch it. and even then i only touch once in the blue moon when one my friends convince me to come then i dont even play the game. just goof off in zombies or something. very much dislike the mp
ARMOR LOCK - agree
the lack of the chief - I'm glad they expanded the Halo universe, such that it doesn't revolve just around him (also look at ODST and Halo Wars)
No battle rifle - DMR is your friend
Horrible multiplayer maps - Seeing updated versions of Ascension and Ivory Tower was glorious
Invasion.....meh - It's a fun new multiplayer mode, just bad when it lacks team work, and players that miss the objectives
The story was good, but not good enough.

and what would you recommend we play CSS, or UT?COD-like? you can't be talking gameplay-wise..it's totally different. Hate the mentality that any upcoming FPS is a COD rip off. That excuse is wearing thin. Halo is still HALO in terms of mechanics.I highly doubt Halo 4 would be as good as the originals. One of the reason is it is a new company and it becoming more CoD like. Compared to Halo 3, Reach was sub par Halo game. The DMR fails in comparison to the BR. Invasion wasn't my cup of tea and a waste imo. The maps were sub par as well. I enjoyed the Noble Team's story, but nothing beats the Chief.[QUOTE="sherman-tank1"]COD-like? you can't be talking gameplay-wise..it's totally different. Somebody posted a thread on here with a reliable source saying that it was trying to become more CoD-like. If you want the source, don't bother asking because I'm not going to go look for it. Also I haven't had a keen eye on Halo 4 so I don't know a lot. Just saying what I've seen so far.I highly doubt Halo 4 would be as good as the originals. and what would you recommend we play CSS, or UT?Any shooter on pc, even the multiplat versions of Noobish shooters like CoD.But hey if you're having fun with your kiddy-mode, more power to you.
I made a similar thread about how bad the Reach campaign was, it was well thought out with good arguments, and all I got was a bunch of butt hurt super Lems who just called me a Sony fanboy and didn't even try to refute my points.
Your going to get the same thing, don't let it bother you, if they can't argue back then their opinion doesn't matter much to begin with now does it?
The problem with the Reach campaign was how reptitive it was, it was literally kill a few enemies then walk/drive over to this point and turn on/off this switch, or defend this area, then walk again and kill more enemies.
The characters have no depth to them, they are just as bad as the Killzone characters are, they have zero personality and die in stupid ways (one of them just walks off to no where and leaves the game because he was so boring, Jung if I recall).
On top of this never do you once get the feeling of having this massive invasion, it feels like a joke.
Only good thing about Reach is the MP and it's full list of features, it dwarfs every other FPS out there in those terms. However it's game play is not as refined and it lacks the finess of other FPS out there like Killzone or BF or COD ect...It's game play feels outdated is another way of putting it.
But it's still a fun game to play with friends.
So in short, Halo Reach = bad SP, but good MP. If you don't have XBL the game is worthless, if you do it's fun. Overall I would give the game about an 8.
dude you dont even own a 360. Your the biggest fanboy on this site ATM in my eyes and no that's not a achievement to be proud of. Disagree. A scene between Noble leader and Cat was my favorite. Where she began the idea of commandeering a longsword, but had to bicker with Carter to even listen to the idea. It's in the dialogue that she obviously is the one that will question leadership, and has done so many times by the line "You can say no" which is delivered with the inflection that Carter has in the past. There are subtle nuances to the writing like this all through Reach, ODST, and Halo 3. You either like this universe, it's lore and stories or you dont. I'm sorry Shadow, I have a hard time believing you fired up any Halo game with a completely open mind towards the game. Your Sony loyalty is so readable.I made a similar thread about how bad the Reach campaign was, it was well thought out with good arguments, and all I got was a bunch of butt hurt super Lems who just called me a Sony fanboy and didn't even try to refute my points.

I own an Xbox bro, it's a 20GB 360 model. I got it day 1 with COD2 for it (which I now have for PC), I mainly got it for Oblivion which wasn't out at the time, but when I got it I played the hell out of it.
Got about 60 hours or so into it but then my 360 RROD on me and I sent it in to them, during this time I just played my PS2 and Gamecube. Got it back played Oblivion some more, got a free XBL trial thing with it, but I mostly just played Oblivion so the free month trial was a waste.
I also bought Gears, Halo 3, Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect 1, Batman, AC, GTA4, and a few other other games. But then it RROD on me again and I had to send it in, which was frustrating because I also had to get a new Oblivion copy as the disc got scratched in the middle, no joke it made it unplayable.
Got tired of waiting and I said fvck it, got a PS3 instead and when my 360 RROD on me a 3rd time I never bothered replacing it. Rebought my 360 multiplats on PS3, did not see a difference between the two versions, play online for free, and the games that sealed the deal for me were MGS4 and Uncharted 2.
Got my PS3 around 2008-2009ish and that's where I've been ever since. I can actually fix my 360, but it will only last for a day or so and then it RROD again, so I just don't bother fixing it anymore.
But whatever, doesn't matter what you think. You can believe whatever makes you happy. I would take a 360 if someone gave it to me, but I wouldn't play it much, aside from Gears I don't really like most 360 exclusives, so what would be the point? Just sell it and make some cash off of it.

You can believe whatever you want, I don't care. These were just my honest opinions which I even said I gave the game an 8, that's a good score. Sorry I didn't give it a perfect 10 like you wanted it, some people have different opinions and I don't think halo is the messiah of FPS games like you do. Funny you talk about me not being open minded when you arn't open minded yourself to handle someone else's opinion.
I have played every Halo game, aside from the RTS one. Best is CE, worst is ODST but I admit it has best atmosphere, but I paid $60 for it and it was too short to justify that purchase. To me SP is more important than MP, and Halo sucks in SP experiences this gen, and it's not the best MP out there either IMO. It has a lot of features, but more features doesn't mean more quality, Killzone, BF, COD ect...all have much better game play to me than Halo.
And lol at Sony loyalty, they are a giant corporation, I'm not loyal to them because I'm not a fascist nor do I own stock. Why would I be loyal to Sony? lol. I don't care what system a game is on, if I enjoy it I enjoy it, if not oh well. There are some PS3 games I don't like and some I do, that's how it is for every system.

but somehow managed to snag more high scoring exclusives this generation alone than all three consoles combined.
it wasn't repetitive, you can boil down any single player fps campaign to that formula. they do a good job of breaking up the shooting with vehicle sections and give you open areas to approach the way you prefer like all halo games do. characters weren't all that good, thats bungie's fault, they have never been able to tell a good story through their games. and jun didn't just walk away. he was put in charge of escorting halsey to safety and killing her should they be captured by the covenant. yea you dont see most of the war, but noble 6 was never really meant to be on the front lines, they're meant to go on suicide missions the sheer amount of content reach gives you in multiplayer is unmatched on consoles. and the gameplay is fine, its halo with nice tweaks. only thing that was missing was a dedicated sprint button for the larger maps. i never felt it was outdated. in fact i thought it was a nice change from the typical quick death, aim down sights of most games today. its less about who shoots first and more about who's the better player. i disagree, i thought the campaign was great, especially co op. and you should never buy a halo game if its not for the multiplayer, thats the best part of the gameI made a similar thread about how bad the Reach campaign was, it was well thought out with good arguments, and all I got was a bunch of butt hurt super Lems who just called me a Sony fanboy and didn't even try to refute my points.
