Because both of these horribly outdated pieces of trash love fighting for the 3rd place, and its pretty close. Who knows what'll land on the 3rd place between these two? So fanboys are fighting, wanting the 3rd place so bad.
Wile the PC stands tall on the 1st place because its far superior in terms of hardware, games, everything, and the Wii humbly (but proudly!) stands on the 2nd place.
lulwut. You can't refer to 'The PC' as a single unit that has superior hardware and games. There is no such thing as 'the pc', some people have pcs with great hardware and other have not so great hardware. And Superior games is purely subjective. Simple put you can compared 'The PC' with consoles. The reason primarily ps3/360 are compared is because they are very similar and easy to compare.
It's because whilst the wii has some amazing exclusives, whenever a multi-plat title comes to the wii (apart from de blob 2) they are almost always inferior to the ps3 and 360 versions. Because the ps3 and 360 versions are so similar it compels fanboys from both sides to argue to death over what is essentially the same game. That's why i find these console wars entertaining purely because of the stupidity of it all. A good gaming PC quite simply would be heads and shoulders superior to the ps3 and 360, so there would be no point in comparing as the argument would be rather one-sided.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 are more adversarial this gen because they have more in common, the Wii is kind of in a different ballpark all together, when I think of system wars I think of consoles really, PC is unquestionably top dog since it has the greatest potential, though everyone treats "PC" like everyone out there has a top notch rig, I imagine many PC gamers out there like to take credit for their PCs abilities by piggybacking pride of those that have the sweetest pimped out rigs that show us all the cool videos that all gamers envy, I imagine many of them though have just enough specs to get by on low settings.
PC holds its own, and the Wii is a complimentary system. The HD Twins, Xbox 360 and PS3, are interchangeable since they offer practically the same experience. That is why they get brought up all the time.
