why is mgs4 hyped AAA?

I played MGS2, and I cannot see this game being drastically different from that one. But hey, it's not like PS3 fanboys are bashing any other games for not being drastically different and thus deserving AA :P (Halo)

Not to mention whining about NG2's and DMC4's 'same old' gameplay. Cows, MGS4 is gonna be great, but according to your logic you should be bashing it for looking similar to it's predecessors :o

They seem quite a bit alike to me, but I do enjoy them. I like Halo better, but MGS3 Sub was one of my favorite games.

MGS4 has everthing that made MGS3: Subsistence AAA, and it has been streamlined and refined so it's even more intuitive. It has all that and more gameplay elements to keep it up to date to next-gen stealth/shooter standards. does that answer your question?Mordred19

exactly. besides this is the most anticipated game outside of halo and gta. Its been proven to be a great series and is a killer app. why wouldnt it be hyped AAA?
