why is nobody compairing the ps3 to 360 this way

I think the most telling and most reasonable comparison to make about sales numbers will be the first 14 months of each console's life. By the end of this calendar year, I think that will be a good time to say which company has a firmer hold or which is on the way up/down. There are so many different factors that go into the sales of a console in the first 6-8 Months (if it is launched in the Holiday window) that it really is futile and stupid to compare the numbers at this point.moohan

not sure how accurate these numbers are but they paint a different picture to the one of the ps3 being white washed by the 360

those figures are a bit off.  I know X360 is winning up to this point when you compare the same time period HOWEVER they are nearly identical.  It's one reason why I keep telling people if you call PS3 a failure so is the X360 when it launched.  The true test will be the 4th qtr like it was for the X360 (which it got it's killer software + good hardware sales)
