Why is ps4 sold out it has no games?

1. It's cheaper than the Bone

2. Last gen lasted so long people were begging for new consoles

3. It has, what some would say, the better versions of multi plats (Ass Creed, Cod, BF4, etc)

Good lord.

Out of the 13 adults I know who play games only 3 of them have gaming PC's... In fact the rest have tablets and low end laptops. So PC games for 60-70% of the gaming demographic aren't a option.

So its simple...

• £350 vs £450

And all the games on the PS4 look better than they do on a 360 and PS3.

That's the mentality of average Joe gamer.

Aside all the reasons mentioned... look at the PS3 vs the Xbox360 and the Wii... and look at the PS2 and Ps1. Buying a Sony console means there will be active development on the console through out and a bit further pass the generation. At least this is the reason i buy a Sony platform over a M$ even though they've been similar other wise.

Sony is better prepared this time around and only has 1 focus: gaming.

11) The PS4 launched in more countries than the One. A lot more countries. Thus, since supply is a zero sum game, they had less supply to go around to the countries that would get some as as a result. Even still, they managed to outsell the One in their own back yard. Mostly because of the other 10 points listed.

12) The core popularity of the 360 was largely contained to North America and England. Thus, Microsoft's real fanbase is smaller than North Americans seem to realize. The world is a big place, and Sony's consoles tend to outsell Xbox consoles by a fair margin in almost every other country on the planet. Only in America and England did Microsoft manage to equal or outperform Sony. A trend that may be reversing itself this generation because of the price disparity.

13) And because it bears repeating, $500 is a lot of money.

with no games and extra controllers, and battery packs,

and a stand for the Kinect if you plan on putting it ON your tv,

People are buying a console for 5-7 years not one month. That's why.

Sony learned some lessons during the PS3's life and they've nailed it with the PS4. It's another powerful console at a more attractive price, and a focus on providing as many great new games as possible, either through first party, indies, or third party support. On top of that, PlayStations have a history of getting many good games for a very long time.

I started playing Resogun today, and it's great. The gameplay is fun and the music is perfect. It's beautiful, and the amount of stuff going on on the screen is mind boggling. It's something fresh too. I'd rather play it over another Super Mario (which I'm sick to death of) or Forza. I'm also impressed with what the PS4 does with NFS: Rivals (which is also a lot of fun), and this is just the beginning.

Looking forward to starting Assassin's Creed 4 soon, as well as some more great multi-plats and exclusives next year.

That all the xbox one has multiplatforms and inferior ones to,you need a Ps4 to play Infamous and Drive Club coming early next year,but i don't need and xbox one to play Titanfall so who really has nothing but multiplatforms.

You named actually more multiplatforms than exclusives,all those superior on PS4,and the PS4 has Knack,Killzone and Resogun that last one higher rated than any xbox one exclusive,but we also have Trines 2,Injustice Gods,Warframe,Sound shapes,war thunder, escape plan and several other games not on xbox one..

Using your rather braindead argument, if the PS4 has the same games as the Xbox One yet is $100 cheaper, why wouldn't people buy the PS4 over the Xbox One? You also get more standard features with the PS4 that aren't behind a silly paywall.

Here in the good ol U S of A, things are pretty simple. Majority of this country doesn't give a freaking crap about brand loyalty. They aren't on message boards hurling insults at one another. They are playing games. And you can win in this country very easily. You need a cool schtick and you need a great price. Last gen wii was a fad and everyone bought it, then kinect came along and gave the 360 the win. Both gimicks, good price, great sales. This gen people here don't want the wiiu yet, xbone is too expensive for 99% of this country, but ps4 has it just right. Cool looking machine for a good price. Its pretty simple. No one gives a crap about 1080 vs 720 or DRM or whatever. They care about price. They don't care if it says Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sanyo or mcdonalds on the side of it. If its cheap and plays games, I'm in.

People are smart and know that by the end of the gen PS4/Xbone aren't even going to be comparable when it comes to exclusives, as with any gen when comparing Playstation to Xbox. Sony first party devs are just miles ahead of Microsoft's. Enjoy Sony's weak launch line-up while it lasts, just like last gen. Within a year and a half, maybe 2 years, the Xbone exclusive line up is going to look like a complete joke compared to the PS4's.

In the meantime PS4 owners will be enjoying having the clear-cut best console ports of multiplat games, while Xbots will be enjoying.... degrading their satellite/cable's TV picture quality just so they can change the channel with their voice(after the 4th try when Kinect finally recognizes your voice command correctly). lol

I'm curious. Does anyone here work in videogame retail? If so, what is the feeling of the general public on the DRM issue? Despite having cleaned that up has the initial negative impact stuck with the average consumer?

Because people would rather play those multi-plays on PS4 cause of cheaper price and better graphics.

Is sold out because they released it in 50 countries and couldn't meet manufacturing demand to sell in so many places at once.

I don't doubt the majority of Sony's success with the launch of the PS4 comes from the MS cluster **** at E3 over the summer. People "know" they don't want whatever MS is offering, so they are getting on board earlier with Sony. I don't doubt sales will start to dwindle into next Spring unless they start bringing out some crazy good exclusives. The multiplats are hooked up already though.

Destiny will likely be my entry point into the PS4. August has 3 paydays.
