Why is the mouse hated on by the consolites?

Both are good. It is a matter of opinion.

Personally, I prefer a controller. I'm more used to consoles, and it feels more natural to me. That being said, some games I would rather have a mouse and keyboard in. Mostly just RTS and MMORPGs, but I don't play those much anymore, so that isn't a problem for me. In my eyes, for me, a controller is great for gaming. A keyboard and mouse is also great. I mean, who would argue that the M/KB set up is better for a controller for using GameSpot?

Neither control scheme is bad. Except the control layouts on the PS3. The rest is good.
