I have scene ps3 at every store that carries them. Its so bad EB games is offering to trade in your ps2 to take a hundred bucks off the price off it. I work at Target in Jax beach and we got a shipment of 18 and it took a week to sell 16 we still have two on the shelves. We sell our wii's rite when we get them and our 360 we sell 8-12 a day and have to put out more from the stock room at the end of the night.kdupe88
It isn't selling Bad. Get out.
Because the ps2 still ahs many games that have just come out for it or are coming out for it in the near future. I knwo many ps2 fans who can't see buying a ps3 for Resistance when FFXII and Rogue Galaxy just came out and GoWII and Manhunt 2 are still on the way. They all plan on getting a ps3 before the end of the year, though.
Had Sony abandoned the ps2 like Nintendo and M$ did the GCN and the Xbox, ps2 owners would've had to get a new console to keep getting new games. Now they don't have to. Honestly, the Wii is selling so well because Zelda is a launch title, in addition to it being so innovative. I hadn't planned on getting one until about a year after launch, but when they made TP a launch title (a game i had pre-ordered since May '05) i knew i had to get one at launch (even though it was still coming out for GC). Once my roomate played mine, he just had to get one as well, and he camped out the day after Thanksgiving and got one with Zelda.

They generated the hype at E3 and then too much time went by before launch so that people could start to break apart the hype and see things for what they were. Had they launched closer to the CGI fest they put on they could of had the suckers coming in droves! Oh and the price does not help at all.
Yes it is selling bad when you can't get your system of the shelves and there is 8 to 10 available at every outlet that sells them thats bad. I mean the 360 is as available as the ps3 because it sells so well we have to keep on putting more out on the shelves while the ps3 just sits there we have not ordered anymore cause they have taken so long to sell.kdupe88
Nope. The Numbers don't add up. Oh well.
[QUOTE="SmashBrosLegend"]1. Lack of games with mass-market appeal 2. Price 3. Terrible press 4. terrible PR from Sony Those are the reasons I can think of.SolidTy
Good Job. You just described the PS2, EXACTLY.
Except the PS2 sold well, cost half the price and had Tekken and SSX at launch :|

The PS3 is the fastest selling PS, that's pretty darn well. Still, The PS3 is no PS2 in some respects, but then again, the PS3 has Online Right at launch, something the PS2 never had to do...it was about only the games back then.
Nintendo has it the easiest, they aren't delivering Online, nor does anyone expect them too, and the great thing is they aren't getting any bad press for it at all. Goes to show, that it is still all about the games(And Price), as the Wii is outselling the PS3.
What is interesting though is the Wii is almost selling as fast as the PS2 did in Japan. Good sign for the future considering which console sold the most last gen? Will good sales in Japan translate to good support from Japanese developers? Unless the PS3 is completely sold out there and they have sold as many as is possible it doesn't seem to be doing very well. It's sold about the same amount as the Dreamcast did over this period of time.

I haven't seen one Wii or PS3 at Target, Circuit City, MicroCenter or Comp U.S.A. in the past 2 weeks. The only gaming system that is easily available in the Minneapolis/St.Paul Minnesota area is the 360.roulettethedogSame thing here in New Orleans. Even Eb games, etc. aren't hiding them in the back anymore.

That is interesting.
If the Wii becomes the System to develop for, are we going to be relegated to another 5 years of the graphics we have with the PS2/GC again? I mean, I am used to it, but playing 360/PC/PS3 makes me long for something more.
But also I want the Wii to do great and get great games, I just don't want it to be the next PS2 in some respects, as I know where the talent will go...
