Why is the Witcher 3 so fkning boring?

I cant play ANY of those titles without wanting to scream.

I can however play 7 days to die for nearly 2000 hours

Edit: Tried Metro multiple times, was boring as ****.

AAA fans debating over which AAA game is worse.

My point is that this gen there are quantity, quality and diversity for all of us. There's no reason to play anything we dont like.

that much is very true.

in fact between 07-12 I almost quit gaming because everything was the AAA formula which I had exhausted to death as a young man. This era however nobody has a good excuse. there is something for everyone.

Meh, I love both but I can understand the point of view. Skyrim is a really fun sandbox to play around in (especially modded) and there’s a lot of different ways to play.

A lot of time in Witcher 3 is spent in dialogue and roaming around. If that’s not your thing, you’re going to have a bad time.

I still love AAAs, but in my opinion indies were the best thing that happened to this industry in decades. Now we have both the advanced AAAs mixed with the experimentation we used to have in the 80s and early 90s. It's great to be a gamer these days.

Witcher 3 is greateat thing since slice bread

Its better than many classic pc games like Deus Ex, System shock 2, Half life, Stalker. Its controls are best. Its combat and AI is better than FEAR. Its citizen kane of gaming. There is no flaw. The section where you travel between portal with white hair witch is not boring. Its story is better than planescape tourment and Mafia 1. Its level design is better than system shock 2 and pacing better than Half life.

I have a pretty balanced view about TW3. It is well written, well acted and looks gorgeous but the combat is iffy, controls are slow and in all honesty, fighting the creatures isnt that exciting, plus there is way too much back and forth collecting ingredients for various potions to fight said monster. It really does get bogged down and isnt as stream lined or fun as TW2 and beyond story, graphics, acting, games HAVE to be fun. If I wanted great literature I'd read.

The Witcher 3 is great. Now we have both opinions on this board.

I will be the first to admit, that I prefer Skyrims gameplay, but way prefer Witcher's world/story.

They are too different to compare imo...

The overall combat maybe? but the first person gameplay, combinate of stealth elements, archery and overall feel and interaction. its not bad.. more of a "sum of its parts" than quality....

And cmon... lets not pretend Witcher combat is ANY good, its quite crap compared to recent 3rd person action RPGs.

Witcher 3 combat is okay, it's not ground breaking but it's functional and tbh I'll play on the easiest setting anyway, I'm not great at the combat but then I'm playing for the story above anything else.

You don't have to like the game clearly and I can see if this was your first witcher game/only interaction with the witcher series you might not get it really, I started with the Witcher 2, read all the books, watched a whole play through of the original and then played 3, the realization of the witchers world is very good, the use of central/Eastern European instruments is very good, the casting of voice actors, particularly West country, Welsh and Irish. I enjoyed Skyrim but for me the witcher 3 does a far more convincing job of presenting a lived in world.

While TW3's combat is mediocre, it's at least better than Skyrim's combat.
