Maybe because only 10% of 360 gamers actually need it, it is pointless
A 5$ lan cable will do, 99% of the time 360 is not THAT far from the router, and you can always grab a HUGE lan cable for almost free
MS is doing it the right way, i dont want to pay extra for something i have exactly ZERO need of

Please, pretty much every piece of electronics has wifi built in these days, it's expected.
I don't use it on my phone, but it's there. It would be more understandable if it wasn't so overpriced to buy it, but it is.
As far as your figures, I do believe they are pulled right out of your rear end, as just about everyone I know would have to do some extensive rearranging of their network to wire something from their entertainment center in.
Yes, you can piece the xbox together to get what you want, and only pay for it. But the add ons are so much more expensive, when added together, than the price of the competitions inclusive package that I don't see how that argument holds any water at all.
Only if your an idiot, you can find a new xbox for 150 pretty consistently, charger 20 bucks, 16 gig thumb drive 30-40 bucks, wifi 65 bucks. yup.. still cheaper then a ps3. Where exactly do you find a new xbox for $150? Last time I checked the cheapest was $199--save for a few sweet bundles that were going around--but for the most part, both base models sell for $299. I don't see how people can argue that the 360 is the better value/cheaper console. Blu Ray is a huge added value. You may not think so now, if you haven't gotten around to switching over from dvd yet, but the change is without question, going to take place. Not only is it a rather good BD player, but it is going to get 3D support soon. And even if that craze doesn't take off, that is still a value--to essentially not have to upgrade your bd player. I could care less about the wifi, but its in there.
