I am VERY happy about what I've seen about X-Box Live on X-Box.com but I'm curious:

How is it different from PSN?

What features does it offer that makes it better in comparison?

Is it worth it to pay for Live in comparison to what you get for free on PSN?

On a side note: Could HOME be a X-Box Live killer?

XBoxLive is more unified than PSN. As for HOME, I doubt it will be an "XBoxLive killer."

Can't say much about PSN, haven't sat down with it myself. Doesn't seem to me like HOME aims to "kill" Live, per se; HOME and Live seem like apples and oranges to me.

Content.  As for the PSN, they have a lot of content to make up if with the "home" interface.

I can answer that. Unified servers that Microsoft pays for, so the developers are free to explore online content for it's games without having to fork over tons of cash for their own servers. Thus, the 360 will wind up with more online content and games that are actually online. Don't believe? Do a search. Some games are already coming out without online for the PS3 and online for the 360. In a day and age where game developers have to fork over an arm and a leg, it's a useful tool for developers.

I hate it when people put a hyphen between the x and box.  it's spelled Xbox.

Home is an AMAZING concept, but the fact that more games and content will be available on the 360 online more than compensates for it IMHO.

Isn't it the other way around or am I confusing unified servers with MS paying for dev servers?

pretty much the unified servers, its an easier tool for developers, it almost guarantees certain games to continue there online service, extra content, better organized friend list. and no i doubt home will really be a "live killer" its cool, but its not a really a live killer

One thing I'm concerned about in "Home" is that in comparison, the menu/ guide system of xbox Live is a simple and fast process, with just a few presses, you get to invite/ chat/ check achievements/ download demos/ etc. Watching "Home" it looks like it could be a chore to simply invite a friend to a game or do any of the above; plus factor in the loading times, and something this simple could be a bother. Sure, it's pretty and the interactivity is nice but when it comes down to it, you just want to jump into a game as soon as possible.

Reason one: everything is unified and seamless, you can invite a friend to play your game no matter what game you or they are playing, and it's a one-button function where you just press X to send the invite and then they press accept and they're automatically sent to the game if they have the disc in the tray, it's not just a manual text message that does nothing.

Gamerscore: PSN might soon have this, I'm not sure, all I know is that none of the games on PS3 yet have had this feature, so for this reason I consider most multiplats to be superior on 360 until the trophies system is integrated on PS3 games.

Microsoft pays for servers: This is what you're REALLY paying for.  Ever wonder why Virtua Tennis 3 has online on 360 and not on PS3, or why Oblivion on 360 has downloadable content and PS3 doesn't?  It's because developers only have to program the online features, they don't have to pay for servers to allow gamers to play online, which means games that are online on 360 will still be online ten years from now as long as Microsoft doesn't pull out, and PS3 games will not.  There will also be more online games on 360 than PS3.

Not only was that statement completely lacking in common sense, I think that by reading and now replying to it has caused my IQ to drop 15 points.

Xbox Live keeps you more intact with your buddies and it's just better overall, even though you have to pay for it. And I doubt that Home could be an XBL killer.

it's better because the owners of both systems say so. myself included. it's just easier to use, more convenient, more consistent and more versitle.
