Why isn't there crazy hype for MGS5?

He was disappointed in MGS4, admitted that he killed off certain characters to early and praised GTA V, while also humbling saying that he was not sure that MGS V could even compare to it

The only Metal Gear Solid that is still exclusive to PlayStation is Guns of the Patriots and that game was massively hype back when PS3 was still new and it made me buy my first PS3 along with Guns of the Patriots. Now that MGS is multiplatform, it has lost it's hype due to the fact that it's no longer PlayStation exclusive. Remember when Xbox fanboys wanted Guns of the Patriots on Xbox 360? That was a big deal and if MGS5 was PS4 exclusive, there would have been hype for this game and you can thank Kojima for going multiplat on this no hype.

@Lulu_Lulu: Well in response to the criticism of the cutscene, Kojima decided to cut back on them in this game, and take an episodic approach to the narrative, if my memory is correct.

as soon as you admit your game is so boring you have to ff through it at the gameplay reveal you have failed as a game designer.

They fast foward through it because watching some one else playing is not as fun as playing it yourself, not that any of that matters, theres two seperate 20 minute gameplay demos you can watch of that level un fasy fowarded and I must say it looked entertaining (to play).

why is that a bad thing? Snatcher, Policenauts, etc. all his games are like that. That is his style.

With that said, the game looks incredible. Can't wait.

Don't call people idiots... Its rude... And they kept fast fowarding it once they got inside the town, where you move slower... The map wasn't even that big, not every impressive in terms of Scale but density was awesome.

After all, stealth games are all about patience, its a waiting game and looking at some one else plot a route to their objective and monitering patrol behavior is boring.... Can't wait to try it out myself though.

@Gue1: yah, scale of the map... yep.. that was it...not that j-dev has no clue about open world and the long ass empty slog across the map was super extra boring.

We haven't seen new footage of the game recently & we don't know the exact date of its release.

All we know it might get pushed back to 2016 which I hope won't.

technically speaking i don't HAVE to.

i do it because the last time i bought one of these pieces of crap i was sold a tactical stealth game where i was handed an op one shot "kill" tranq gun from the start and could run through the thing just shooting and then found myself interacting with bald smoking monkeys and watching snake look up girls skirts.

So, you feel betrayed or rather, you have low expectations? Also, do you still consider the tranq gun to be overpowered when it has a limited supressor?

Bad comparison if you ask me. It has been 7 years since TLG was announced and we have seen like 2 trailers? With TPP we have gotten like 4 or 5 demonstrations ( this includes the short little demonstration), plus we got a gameplay trailer and a story trailer. Not to mention that we have gotten tons of info on it and we are getting debut footage of MGO 3 friday. And at least we have some idea of the release date for it

My hype for this game lies pretty much on the ground. Zero.

Yeah, probably a little too extreme of an example, but you get my drift. Just too far out at this point. Its MGS...I'm sure it will be a strong title.

It's just the fact, Ground Zeroes game out ages ago, and we've had all the major Shows which it was shown off at, and now were just left waiting, the only reason there isn't huge hype on these boards is the fact we've had nothing new since TGS, so the conversations have just died down for the time being until we find out more. that's all.
