Wouldn't it be a simple way to make games more enjoyable for those willing to fork out the extra bucks? Or am I missing something?
Of course I speak striclty of SP FPS games or just the SP modes in games that also feature MP.

[QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"]Never had problems with dual sticks tbh.di_sgt_barberA mouse is a lot easier to use.
If you're used to it, yes it is... if not, no.
It would give those using the M+KB a massive advantage online.foxhound_fox
Are there any PS3 games that are compatible with the Keyboard and Mouse? I want to own some noobs online. =)DeathScape666Read the second line of the first post.

I'm used to both. I'm just going to assume you've hardly used a mouse to play an FPS.Some people just prefer the controller.
Consoles are made to be played in the living room on the couch not practical with M&K.
To have a fair and competitive arena you need to have standardized methods of play.
To which every you prefer they're a sytems that supports what you want. Why not just play on the PC if you prefer M&K?

I'm used to both. I'm just going to assume you've hardly used a mouse to play an FPS.Well, I used to play a lot of Quake II and Counter Strike back in the day when they were big, and tbh I wasn't too good with m/kb, so you can say I suck with them.
I read it, but I still want to know if there are online games compatible with the Keyboard and Mouse. I doubt a game only lets you use it for the single player.DeathScape666Hence the question: "why not?" It seems perfectly reasonable to me just to add such a simple feature in, and prohibit the player from using it online, or to limit him/her battling against other M/KBers only.
cost, exclusivity. also, I played Crysis today for the first time, and if that crap is what people are calling the GOTY in some places, I don't even want to try these other PC shooters. Some people just prefer the controller.

Consolites are like this "if it ain't a feature of the console then it sucks" or have a wrong cliche idea like "i like to play on my couch, its impossible with the mouse"
So as long as consoles are limited to gamepads to play games, K/M is useless or worse compared to gamepads. Another example will be mods, consolites are like "they are just gimmicks" or "i prefer to leave games to the pros", but then LBP is released and atleast the cows change and say "user made content is the best idea ever, its so revolutionary". So we hermits end like this .
i chose a console knowing the pitfalls of owning a console, but accepts them due to a high cost of living, and that some games actually play better on a game pad, ie platformers, racers, and fighters.Consolites are like this "if it ain't a feature of the console then it sucks" or have a wrong cliche idea like "i like to play on my couch, its impossible with the mouse"

UT3 for the ps3 supports it

I am no consolite I could care less what hermits think. I prefer the controller for most shooters it's the truth it's how I feel. They are pro's who compete that use controllers aswell. I never said M&K was impossible on the couch all I said it wasn't pratical. I own a gaming PC too and fail to see why people get so mad over something as simple as preference. I like mods thats why I have a PC aswell.
Because it defeats the purpose of consoles. The next step after having mouse and keyboard is hooking it up to a computer monitor and playing in front of it on a desktop. Once you reach that point, there is absolutely no sensible reason why you are playing a console instead of a PC.LordQuorthon1a. It's cheaper. 1b. Console exclusives. 2. You'd do better to think first.
because the wiimote/controllers are better? EyezonmiiThey're not. Response time is noticeably slower for wiimote, and regarding FPS games, the joysticks are less precise than a mouse, and that's a matter of fact, not opinion.
1. Not everyone feel comfortable with a M/KB 2. It defeats the purpose of console gameing 3. How would I play wii sports or wii fit with a M/KB :?Gh0st_Of_0nyx1. But some people are, that's why it should be optional for those that are. 2. What is the purpose of console gaming, exactly? 3. We're talking about FPS games. [QUOTE="Lewisite"]

Fork over $80-100 bucks and you can have your mouse & keyboard.
Which is more expensive? Killzone 2, M/KB, and PS3, or Crysis and a desktop computer to run it?[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"]because the wiimote/controllers are better? di_sgt_barberThey're not. this is a response to barber...
KB&M would be like cheating.
Consoles shooters are tailored with the controller in mind. Playing a PC game with a controller would be slow and sluggish because it was built with the KB&M in mind. The opposite effect happens with console shooters. Playing a Consoel shooter with a KB&M would be fast and accurate giving the player an unfair advantage.

How do you explain games that appear on both PC and consoles? The only major differences are in performance and controls.[QUOTE="di_sgt_barber"][QUOTE="Eyezonmii"]because the wiimote/controllers are better? EyezonmiiThey're not. No, MP3 does not feel better tjan a M/KB. Movement with a mouse is almost instantaneous and extremely precise. You could not pull a 180* and shoot someone in the face within a split second in MP3, not to mention that the game suffers from the very slight sluggishness of all WiiMote controls. It doesn't feel like you're moving the reticle, iti feels like you're pulling it.
My question TC is why does it matter ? If you want Kb/M support then play on a PC exclusive console FPS are made from the ground up for controllers why would developers waste time in implementing a feature that there game dosent need ?Gh0st_Of_0nyxThey are NOT! CoD4, Team Fortress 2, Max Payne, Max Payne 2, Doom 3, UT3, Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW, Bioshock, Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead, Far Cry 2 -- all are multiplat shooters with virtually ZERO difference in design, sans input methods.

You just explained it. Theres a noticeable difference in performance and controls.

There is system for you that fully supports M&K why not embrace it?

No, you're not making any sense. Either you're thinking of online play which I specifically excluded in my original post, or you actually believe that somehow console shooters feature deliberately slower and less intensive thinking than a PC shooter despite the fact that so many shooters are virtually identical across all 3 platforms sans "performance and controls" (graphics and player input). They are NOT! People that use Arcade Sticks over 360 pads for fighters have an advantage and they let us use it though. Why not M/KB?
Not really. The difference between KB/b and Analog are like night and day when it comes to FPS. D-pad and Arcade sticks is not a wide gap (if you want a wide gap, D-pad vs Keyboard in fighting games).

If you think there isn't a wide gap between 360 D-Pad and an Arcade Stick then I don't know what to tell you. There are huge differences between different types of D-Pads and Different types of Arcade Sticks. Thus there is also a difference between D-Pads and Arcade Sticks.

Read the first post again, people.I already addressed your first post in my first post in this thread. Kb/M is not the way for consoles. Ai computer themselves have a given reaction time when to attack you (slower than PC's since analog is slower). Unless the devs are gonna do a KB/M mode and a Controller Mode for SP, it won't work out. Its either gonna be too hard or too easy.
Why do I play a console game? To play a relaxing experiance (except when im getting owned in CoD WaW).
Lets consider the basics here. At the PC your sitting upright and focused on the screen only a few feet infront of your face usually plugged into headphones blocking out the rest of the world, or in my case having a close 5.1 surround sound system. On a console you are sitting much farther back, sitting in either a more upright position or a bit more relaxed, depending on how your personal style it.
The mouse and keyboard on a console makes no sense. On a PC it gives you that instant control (hense why PC game need to be at 60 FPS for players to not notice any stutter while moving the camera in the game) that the controller just doesn't have. It gives you more buttons to play around with, and more ability to read through menus easily. This is great when your 2 feet from the screen.
Now think of that on a decent gaming setup. Your usually 10-15 feet from the TV. First of all your attention isn't going to be nearly as tight as you have much more in your line of sight. Next the sound isn't directly in your head or really close to your ears. Third your not sitting at a desk where a keyboard and mouse can be placed, placing the keyboard on your lap and putting yoru mouse on a end table next to you chair doesnt work (try it once), and whos going to move a desk infront of their TV? So now you have a defeant problem.
Now lets look at the actual gameplay. On a console, the setting isn't as intense. Its more relaxed, even if the game is extremely intense. The gameplay is, and I use this word lightly, slower. This accomidates how your positioned. The screen isn't straight infront of your face, your not hunched over a keyboard with all of your attention focused on the screen. Even if you are completely focused on the game, its just not right in your face. So now its slower.
If you change the controls to a mouse and keyboard, it changes. The relaxing, and often cinimatic experiance gets ruined by it being to fast paced and intense. You are just clicking and clicking and moving as fast as possible. The game becomse different. For those who don't play PC games then swithch console games often, you probably don't know how it changes.
Then you have to take another factor in, framerate. You need to try to hit 60fps. At 30 FPS, you notice a lot of slowdown when moving the camera fast. With the console its a lot smoother.
It just isn't right
