Somebody asked why the ps3 wasnt dead yet and had the weakest facts to back it up. The funniest thing was hearing that MGS was going to the 360. The real question is why isnt the 360 dead yet..the ps3 is technologically advanced and will not "die" because of the blu-ray player. The 360 has no real next gen technology in it not even blue tooth let alone blu-ray. The future is blu-ray and ps3 has the most to gain since its big system sellers arent even out(GT5, MGS4, GOW3, Final Fantasy) and it been outselling the 360 which has already released halo3. The 360 was plauged with the RROD since its launch and has still not completely fixed this problem.....why would anybody still want this last gen technology it was good for its first 2 yrs but now has little to offer other than Live and the PSN is soon going to have in game XMB and home so the Live is just $50 more for no reason.

Well to be honest the PS3 doesnt have a heck of alot of sales for them to drop anyways. But the 360 should be dead. Its clearly inferiour but unfortunetly many people either dont see that or dont watn the best. Theyll settle for hardware thatll fail 66% of the time. perplexes me.beinss

clearly inferior yet games look better, run better...hmmm, sell better lol. and yes it fails 66% of the time you wish it did so you could justify your 500-600 dollar ps3 purchase.

ahahah..most the multi plat games look the same and run the same they only sell better on the 360 because its sold more systems and did you see the new rankings gta4 is higher on the ps3 than 360

I mean using the TCs logic, why did the Wii even get started? If this gen has shown us anything, it is that more advanced technology =/= generation winner. I'm not a big fan of the Wii but even I can see that.

I think you're forgetting about the other more important factors, like the CPU and GPU technology, which is at the heart of a gaming console. Not to mention the game engine technology - the code that produces all those next gen features in games like the visuals, animations, lighting, textures, etc... That blu ray disc doesn't make that, it just stores it same as DVD discs.

And X360's chips are very much next gen, as shown by the games, which are more than a match for PS3 games. Now this is NOT a slam against PS3. It has good games and leading edge graphics. But so do the 360 games, so really, they're equal in that department. And if PS3 doesn't produce visuals significantly beyond what 360 is capable of, it is no more "last gen" than 360 is.

And do NOT give me the failed "360 is already maxed out, while PS3 still has growth potential" argument. People were saying Gears 1 "maxed out" the 360 after just one year, and the video we've seen of Gears 2, with all it's advancements, completely obliterates that feeble propoganda.

But hey, I actually love it when you fanboys make these topics of how you think the console wars should have played out and hand out your ludicrous prophesies of when the 360 will "die". It was supposed to happen when PS3 launched. It was supposed to happen in 2007. Now it's supposed to be in 2008. I can't wait to see how alive and well 360 will be in 2009, when it's prognosis gets pushed back yet another year. The simple reason why the 360 is not dead yet is because it is a gaming console that bring out a large amount of good games. The 360 bring out a lot of exclusive games including lower rated games that doesn't get mentioned as much. Plus they used to bring out better multi-platform games. Its only recently that multi-plateform games have become nearly even.

Yes the PS3 is more advanced but just now it is only just on par with the PS3 when it comes to games so the extra power is pointless unless they use it.

Blu-ray player is not really needed for this gen. The PS3 being a blu-ray helped the format war and blu-ray disk sales more than it helps games. Out of all of the PS3 games only a couple needs blu-ray disk and they could have been done on multiple disks. Saying that if it does have a 10 year life then it will be needed when the next xbox is out.

For the last couple of year all i have heard is they are going to fix the PSN by adding XMB and home and am still waiting for them to come out and also waitng for all their top titles. If sony could bring out as much content as the 360 every week (games, demos, videos, etc), released patch and DLC the same time as the 360 and not a month later, added XMB, released online DLC the same time all over the world and speeded up the downloads then i wouldn't mind paying for PSN just to get it fixed.

The reason why the PS3 is not dead yet is because of the RROD. If MS never had that problem they could have sold a lot more 360 and stopped more people buying a PS3 after the 360 breaks. The other reason why the PS3 isn't dead is that Sony simply lied to everyone on how quick games was coming out and how good they are going to be then you hear delay after delay but that doesn't matter if people are still buying it. The PS3 also got a boost when people found out it was the only blu-ray player that could update it self on the internet. MS not including HD DVD in the 360 also helped boost blu-ray sales and the PS3 after HD-DVD had lost.

am a huge PS3 fan, but for the good of competition, i hope no consoles 'dies' because its always healthy to have 3 console manufacturers doing good...

Most RUBBISH post EVER... in this thread so far. None of those games arent out yet - and in that case Xbox 360 doesnt have Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, Kill Zone 2, Wipeout HD, Gran Turismo 5 or Final Fantasy XIII etc.

PS3 has games - if you cant see what them on the shelves go have your eyes checked out.

okay first off to end the graphics argument i think the graphics on both systems is pretty much equal so graphics has nothing to do with it.

second u wouldnt install a whole 50GB game so you can only have "one" on the entire console are you kidding me..... name one game that took up more the 4BG....obviously u dont have a PS3

Can you tell me name of one review site that says that forza 2 looks better than gt5:p ,I believe facts not opinions and I have played both myself thank you.Ok so forza has good looking backgrounds but the in car hud and car models of gt5:p are soo freakin good its amazing.And btw let alone 1 article .Till 360 produces 1 game which looks better than ps3 exclusives I wont believe you

And yet 90% of the people i interviewed claim the 360 is superior. 78% of all women claim the PS3 is a rubbish grill and 89% of all men think the games on the 360 are superior to the 2 on the playstation 3.
