Why Microsoft Usually Doesn't Respond To SONY's Repeated Claims of PS3>X360?

in terms of which console is more powerful, how come SONY is usually the one doing the talking when most multiplats look better on X360?

does Microsoft's silence on this matter mean;

a) MS acknowledging the PS3 is more powerful than X360.

b) MS taking the high road.

c) Major Nelson's 2005 charts = 'Nuff said

there to busy getting there PR to make RROD seem like a good thing

First of all I am not a cow. I am not a fanboy of any system. I have my own prefernces to have a ps3 over a 360 and if anything I am a cowmit anyway.

the PS3 is outselling the 360 everywhere in the world but america, Europe Japan and Australia. I said worldwide not in America. You the one whos delusional I think.

I would hope it's because it's a sad little immature fight. If sony keeps challenging pissing matches and MS keeps simply ignoring them, MS gets to play with everyone else while Sony just stays there with it's **** in it's hand. This reaction has nothing to do with the relative performance of both consoles - it's just microsoft evading a battle that will be both meaningless and messy.

sou r saying that the 360 has sold 30 million systems? since ps3 has 6 million sold in its first year and the 360 has 12 in its2nd yr i would say they are doing about the same( even though the 360 only had 4.5 sold its first yr ). do the math.

So by your logic (or lack there of) just because my Atari 2600 brought me years of entertainment and reliability those great qualities should automatically carry over to the a Jaguar?!?!? MS has typically taken the "let's let the performance do the talking" approach...

and so far, the performance of the 360 is much better than that of the ps3... so they don't really have to say anything...

they let the fanboys scream about "teh cell" and the "super computer", but it has no bearing as the proof is right in front of the consumer's eyes.... the 360 simply outclassed and out performedthe ps3....

The reason is because, in the real world, nobody cares about power. The Xbox was more powerful than the PS2 and it didn't help them one bit. Generally people care about games and about the brand. Xbox has been established as a brand and right now the 360 has the games and they are beating the PS3 in sales. Whether or not the PS3 is more powerful, at this point, is irrelevant.

major nelson works for microsoft. if you want to be fair lets see what a Sony tech wiz would say. for all the so called short comings that he so elequently pointed out u sure cant see it in the games. i will give the 360 the anti aliasing and in some cases better textures.but all the shaders and lighting and AI and physics go to the PS3. framerate is up in the air it goes back and forth.

and last but not least most of the multiplats are ports from the 360 so they were optimized for the way the 360 architecture is designed. if u make a game from the ground up for the PS3 i guarantee the 360 will have a real tough time running it.

Sony knew that the PS3 might be in trouble with the pricepoint so they had to talk it up inorder to con people into buying it at $600 with no games when it launched. Unfortunately, in doing so they not only tarnished their brand name but also made everyone utterly sceptical about anything the PR dept of Sony gaming division says.blue_hazy_basic

In all honesty the public loves the bold claims that Sony make (its the equivalent of a football team with no chance in hell of winning the Super Bowl claim they will go ALL THE WAY!!!)....folks eat it up with each press conference.

The problem is that the fanboys actually take Sony's word as law and regardless of the facts presented to them (lack of software, multiple hardware revisions in the 1st year, dev displeasure, etc etc). As a case and point the news where Stringer himself declared the format war a stalemate, Sony fanboys were hellbent on claiming otherwise touting charts and sales figures from third party resources when they heard the news first hand from Sony!!! Things like this take "fanboy" into the realm of completely dillusional, thankfully this dillusion doesnt translate into sales or else Sony would be in control right now thinking the PS3 was god's gift to gaming....

And while I do believe Sony has said it several times, Devs have said it was well right? They qualify that statement, by saying it's harder to tap that power, but eventually people will. These are multiplat devs too. I believe them over Sony or MS on the matter.

Considering the 360 has been whipping the PS3, I don't think that "pitbull" is doing much in the way of proving superiority.

It's pretty simple: Not reacting to your opponents empty boasts will always make you look bigger than them, and this is the road MS is taking. Seems to be working, tbh.

ummm yes, but thats not general purpose calculations, general purpose calcs are used ofr AI and al like, while what the cell does is good at say physics when programmed correctly and it is good at detcetcing and changing irragulations...i belive there is a program made for that purpose already...oh yeah folding at home. lol...stil can't beat the 360 general purpose cpu strength...ppl really need to learn to read and learn the tech stuff they want to talk about.....lol
