It's been happening for 25 years now, why is it still happening?

Yeah, because Sony copied them when they decided to use discs instead of cartridges or when MS introduced the world to online console gaming.
Actually Nintendo had the first online console.Yeah, because Sony copied them when they decided to use discs instead of cartridges or when MS introduced the world to online console gaming.

It was called Satellview for the SNES.
First, nintendo made consoles. Then sony made consoles. Nintendo made a handheld. Then sdony made a handheld. Nintendo made motion sensing. Then, sony made motion sensing. Now even microsoft is making motion stuff.Yeah because Sony copied Nintendo when it included blu ray with the ps3

cool, that's not online gaming.
Sega did this first. MS perfected it, or if anything, moved it forward. but they didn't introduce in the console-industry.
Yeah because Sony copied Nintendo when it included blu ray with the ps3
First, nintendo made consoles. Then sony made consoles. Nintendo made a handheld. Then sdony made a handheld. Nintendo made motion sensing. Then, sony made motion sensing. Now even microsoft is making motion stuff. You forgot Nintendo put the analog stick on a standard console controller, then Sony copied them. Next thing you know Sony and Microsoft will be releasing their own heartbeat sensor.Yeah they copied Sega for that stuffYeah, because Sony copied them when they decided to use discs instead of cartridges or when MS introduced the world to online console gaming.

Motion sensing technology = $$$$$$. As proven from Nintendo this gen.
and businesses tend to like $$$$$$.
Obviously not true. Look at Kinect.Because Nintendo comes up with the ideas and everyone else makes them better.

Indeed. Jumping around like an idiot is gonna be so much fun...
By the way, Kinect = EyeToy.

Yeah I totally agree. Like why does IKEA make furniture. Like dining tables, they so copied that idea from someone else. They should come up with something original.MotionNightBut ikea came up with the idea of wonderful cheap build-it-yourself-and-eat-swedish-food furniture. They didn't just copy the idea of a couch. If Ikea built a motion sensing way of playing videogames, it would involve tasty swedish food that would be very original.

motion-sensing in general?
no....Nintendo had motion sensing tech since 1989, though a failure, you can't discount the powerglove's existence.
even MS had motion controls in video-gaming before their Kinect crap, and even before the Eyetoy.

Except Nintendo didn't make the Power Glove, Mattel did. ;) Oh and I knew about MS's Sidewinder controller for PC, that's why I said "between the two", as in Nintendo and Sony. ;) again.[QUOTE="hakanakumono"][QUOTE="Fried_Shrimp"] Obviously not true. Look at Kinect.the_deamon

good game.
Motion controls, control stick, rumble pak, and the Psx controller was originaly a copy of the snes controller until Nintendo's n64 lol.
Jelley0
The button layout of the PSX controller was definitely a copy of the SNES layout, but there is a big difference between the snes PAD and Sony's design.
Microsoft and Sony have innovated in their own ways but I think Nintendo takes the cake.
Microsoft-
Mainstreamed online gaming (community, headsets)
TV and Movies on consoles
First Western Console
Sony-
Dual Analog (analog came from nintendo)
Disc based gaming
Memory cards
Camera gaming
Nintendo-
Dpad
Analog Stick
Shoulder Buttons
Rumble
Mastered 3D gaming (platforming, lock-on)
First Handheld
Motion Controls
...and countless other game mechanics, genres, and ideas came from nintendo ...The industry definetly would be the same without them... they are the kings
One thing i will say is that Microsoft and Sony seem to offer a better place for third party games, Nintendo kinda always has just done their own thing and expect third parties to follow when Microsoft and Sony really RELY on third party developers..

I thought it was Sega with the Gensis. Need to find one of my magazines but I recall that one of Sega's old consoles could go Online but of course, it was an utter failure.Yeah....about that, Dreamcast was the first console with online gaming. Sorry friend. Anyway, people copy Ninty because A: It's lucrative B: They don't know how to patent their **** and most importantly, C: Get over it...Yeah, because Sony copied them when they decided to use discs instead of cartridges or when MS introduced the world to online console gaming.
