It doesn't matter who did what first. You can't deny that Nintendo has made popular most of what and how we game these days.

Yeah, because Sony copied them when they decided to use discs instead of cartridges or when MS introduced the world to online console gaming.

LOL. It wasn't even Sony's idea to incorporate discs in gaming.... Nintendo originally wanted Sony to make a cd-rom addon for the SNES and copy Sega

Nintendo has been making tons and tons of money in case you haven't noticed. I think it's pretty smart that the other two companies are learning from Nintendo's success.

Well, Sony tried to sell the disc based design to Nintendo and they wanted none of it so technically...

They don't. Same ideas but a different target audience, namely those above the age of five.SolidSnake35
Sure Sony doesn't want to steal Nintendo's customers.

"everyone copy nintendo", Problem is they really don't. The only reason they are all going crazy with motion control is because Nintendo has struck a gold mine. SAGE_OF_FIRE
pretty much this.

Everyone copies everyone, Sony copied live. Nintendo and MS copied Sony when they made their systems vertical. Sony copied the analog feature and made it better and then MS copied that and further improved it. Nintendo inovates because of competition, they would have never changed their image if it weren't for Sony marketing towards a more adult audience. So in retaliation they marketed towards casual gamers.

Because Nintendo comes up with the ideas and everyone else makes them better.

hakanakumono

Obviously not true. Look at Kinect.

Nintendo came up with eyetoy?

Nope but Sega did with Dreameye for the Dreamcast long before the eyetoy.

No, the eyetoy could detect motion and you could play games with your full body by moving it around.

Yeah because Sony copied Nintendo when it included blu ray with the ps3

Acemaster27

First, nintendo made consoles. Then sony made consoles.Nintendo made a handheld. Then sony made a handheld. Nintendo made motion sensing. Then, sony made motion sensing. Now even microsoft is making motion stuff.

And before Nintendo, Maganavox made consoles.

The first handheld system was actually made by Caleco.

So yeah, I'll give your 1/3, but guess what, Business as a whole is built on nothing but people "copying" one another.

He's still wrong, Sony had done motion sensing before Nintendo. The Power Glove was not made by Nintendo, it was made by Mattel.

Everyone copies everyone, Nintendo didn't use the DVD format first, they didn't do online gaming first, They didn't do the controller first, they didn't do HD first, they didn't do backwards compatibility first. There is an endless list of feature Nintendo copied from competitors and a fair amount of thing they don't get right.
