Here is the link to the UK commercial for HR. Why isn't there one for the US. I mean this game has been either number 1 or 2 for almost a week and a half on Amazon and Sony isn't advertising it here. Just seems like another fail on Sony's horrible advertising dept. Now if there is one in the US sorry for this thread but I haven't seen one and there isn't one on youtube.

The PS3 adverts in Europe suck pretty bad, I don't think that adverts that great, I've seen a better Heavy Rain advert than that on the Discovery Channel while watching American Chopper late at night.

I'd really like it if we had the adverts America got, they are a lot better, but it seems as though the Wii and DS dominate the ad's on TV.

These type of games do very well in Europe. Sony is trying to expand in Europe market. Though i don't know what good it will do, these kind of games thrive on the PC.

Ok so there was another HR commercial in the UK? Well at least you guys got 2 commercials as we have gotten none which is kind of sad since a lot of people buy PS3's to watch blu-ray movies. You would think that this type of game would fit well with that demographics here in the US. Well that is Sony for you.

This game will survive, like all other Sony titles, on a minimal advertising budget, lots of word-of-mouth buzz, and good reviews.

It's too bad they don't market the hell out of these games, but they must not think the cost is worth the benefit. Imagine if Uncharted had a marketing campaign like Halo 3. I imagine it would have moved a few more systems. An advertising campaign as aggressive as Halo 3's could sell millions of aerosol cans of anthrax to pacifists. I'm sure a ton of people who didn't even know what a Halo was ended up buying the game and a 360 because they felt they were missing out on some huge cultural event.

Sony will not win in NA, I'd say it's too little too late, so maybe they are just going after the European market to try and make up ground where they don't have such an uphill battle. NA is XBL territory, I've finally abandoned trying to get all my buds to buy a PS3 and play online with me and just caved in and bought a 360 for XBL. Easier that way.

You have to advertise to you're audience. This isn't a game that a "casual" would buy so there's no point in wasting money. Every serious gamer would know if they want it by either coming on sites like GameSpot or by word of mouth. I doubt any serious gamer out there has no clue what Heavy Rain is.

I disagree about this statement as the plot and the controls while weird would be fine for a casual gamer. I mean it plays like a murder mystery thriller so definitely would appeal to a lot of casual gamers. Unfortunately Sony is just not one for doing a lot of advertising in the US like a poster above me mentioned. Just a shame as this game could have appealed to a lot of people whodon't playvideo games because they think they are just Mario or violent shooting and beat them up games.
