Something I never really understood is why people only stick to one console brand. If they buy an Xbox 360 they will never get a PS2/PS3 and bash it to death. The same with PS3 owners and how they will never own an Xbox 360. As a gamer myself, I love playing games and could careless what system they're on. I love Perfect Dark for example, and wouldn't mind buying an Xbox 360 to play that game, then Fable, Gears, ect... I love Metal Gear games and some of the other PS3 games. So I own a PS3 to play them. I understand not everyone can buy every system out there that's next gen, but people always seem to bash the system they don't own.

What happened to gamers loving games? Now it's all about what console you own, and how much "better" it's supposed to be. I see this more with the younger kids though, people like myself who came from playing the classics like NES, atari, ect... favoior gameplay over fancy graphics.

Money would be a major limiting factor for many people, IMO.

System Wars superiority complex #1, the situation I'm in is the situation that every single other person that exists is in.

Seriously I think less than 3 guys on this whole board have ever figured out what a minority we are in.

As a percentage how many people do you think own more than one current gen console? One tenth of a percent???

I was mainly getting at this point, people will only bash another console based on the fact they don't own it.

I only need one more to finish my console triangle.
Every gen, I'll usually get them all.

Most gamers fear change. When they buy a console and are very satisfied with that console, they will believe that all that brand will satisfied their gaming needs. They end up not trusting other brands.

Money, and a bit of lack of time. The more consoles I get, the fewer total games I can purchase (because of the initial investment cost per console), plus it's unlikely that I would ever play all the good games from all of the consoles. If you can afford it, I recommend having two to have a nice cross-section of games. I'm PCWii atm.

For myself, I have owned consoles from certain companies in the past and have felt ripped off and dissapointed. This is a major factor why I may steer away from those certain companies' products for future purchases.

Maybe not everyone can afford the same things as you, jerk.JAB991

I don't recall discussing the consoles I own in my post. :) Not sure how you can call someone a jerk with no biases.

Like I stated, people should spend more time just enjoying games in general and less time fighting over which console to own. You should buy the console which has the games you want to play, and if you can afford another one then go for it.

I don't have a lot of money, yet I have 2 consoles now.
I didn't just buy them one after another. I got the Wii at the end of '06, and just got my 360 earlier this year.

Next year, I'm sure I'll get a PS3.
And, that would be the cost of probably 4-5 games I would buy.
But, I'll be opening myself up to a whole new library of games.

It was the same for me the last couple gens.
You don't have to buy the consoles all at once lol.

I agree with this. Also throw in a DS for lunchbreaks and you are getting the best gaming experience this gen has to offer.

Well you've pretty much described my setup. :P But you might need to throw in a PS3 to get PS3 exclusives since those don't seem to be coming out on PC.

you forget console multiplats like GTA4, Soul calibur 4, FF13 etc.

its not compleat but i would say having Pc, Ps3/360 and a wii will make it so, well unless you are like me and hate most of what the wii has to offer.

I've always been a multiple owner in the past, and still have my Dreamcast, N64, PlayStation, Ps2, Gamecube... etc... but so far there hasn't been a single PS3 game that would make me want to buy one to compliment my 360.

When one arrives I'll go multi-platform again, till then Sony can "just wait" for my money, seeing as they're making me "wait" for games I want.
