for me gaming is a light hobby that brings me enjoyment. not an intense competition with whoever i cross swords with. and if gaming is encouraged to become some elitist pastime then i think it will be shooting itself in the foot. this is where pc gaming suffers. it's much more alien and unwelcoming to newcomers than consoles
Who cares? What do tournaments have to do with you unless your competing in one.
FYI, anyone can hold a tournament of their own for however much their willing to put up, so how exactly is this a pro/con issue?(Rhetorical question, don't really care for an answer)

I actually had an army of Hermits attack me for saying Consoles were better than PC in terms of big games lol. but yea I dunno it depends on preference. if u like RTS, and need the best platform to play shooters on then go to PC with the MMO's as well. the ps3 can use the fragfx wireless mouse to play shooters though but yea if u want JRpg's and metal gear solid, and Halo, then get PS3's and 360's. simple as that. pick what you want.
