Modern Warfare 2 ='s casual warfare

MW2 is a casual game, which is why it is so popular. It is made to appeal to the masses. The game really is quite fun despite its many hiccups. The minority of people online that bash this game remind of me people that hate anything just because it becomes too mainstream or popular.

The casual game will almost always be more popular than the hardcore game.

MW2 is a very easy game to play online. Anybody can pick it up right away, and Activision has mastered how to keep people addicted with their level and prestige system. Bad Company 2's level-up system is extremely boring in comparison. Halo 3 doesn't even scratch the surface of the levelling system of MW2. I don't know if they learned these tricks from Warcraft, but they are pure genius. Half the reason I have played almost 200 hours online in MW2 is because I keep feeling the compulsive need to master each sniper rifle, quick-scoping, throwing knives, all the perks, and every other gun. The prestige killstreak challenges give me a reason to keep playing. Then when I prestige I have to do it all over again.

MW2 doesn't just appeal to teenage boys, which is why it does so well. I hear a lot of grown men playing online, and even a few girls. MW2 is also my top game to play in local splitscreen mode with my friends. I didn't even bother to get Bad Company 2 because it doesn't have a local multiplayer option.

Some people hate killstreaks, but my favorite thrill in gaming for the last year has been when I get really close to getting a nuke and then I finally get it and piss everyone off in the lobby.

I am a big fan of MW2. The only thing I didn't like so far was the Stimulus package, which I thought was overpriced and lacking.

I really hope Activision gives us level editors for CoD in the future, so we can create a gaming experience not unlike Halo 3.

Frankly, it's cool to hate on MW2. It gets a TON of undeserved hate.

First, for the SP, I won't talk about it much, just the campaign was very good, if only 5 hours (hey, how long was BFBC2's campaign?), and with questionable storytelling, but THIS IS A MP BASED SHOOTER. Did you really expect a stunningly well told story? xD Spec ops is an amazing addition. MW2 apparantly innovated NOTHING. Spec Ops, while certainly seen before, has never before been seen like this, 33 wholly seperate and exciting missions, 3 levels of difficulty, Solo, split screen, co op online, etc. Ofc, the important part is the MP

About the glitches, there are only a few glitches that seriously affect gameplay. The care package glitch was big, but you can always leave the game its in. And importantly, IT HAS BEEN FIXED. The Javelin glitch was fixed very early, I barely even played when it was a big problem. Claymore as a primary weapon? Does that give any advantage?

The hacked consoles (10th prestige, golden Deagle, 4th perk) and etc, those aren't specific to MW2. When you have 30 mil people buying a primarily MP game, there will be some glitches. But does that really affect your gameplay, some guy with 10th prestige? Prestige adds extra classes (which barely affect gameplay, has anyone ever switched to over 5 classes in a game? It's just for ease of use) and titles/emblems. 4th perk barely comes up, and is a minimal advantage.

As to MP being imba, frankly people can't agree with whats imba. Shotties (Model 1887s were nerfed btw), Commando/Tact Knife, Noob toobs, Claymores, etc, tend to be the most hated on strategy. But frankly, apart from noob toobing (which I agree should be nerfed, but w/e, every game has some OP'd stuff), there isn't much imba. Because every weapon kills so fast, no matter whether you have an m16 stopping power or an m9 silencer, they'll still die. Frankly, the most powerful and consistent strategy is probably just AR's with stopping power/SoHpro (faster ADS), just for versatility.

My point about MP is that while its so fast so everything SEEMS imbalanced, it all is in a fair state of equilibrium. All these guns kill fast, and while their all different, they basically all work (F2000 suuuuuucks). People love to bash MW2, but frankly none of them have put much time into it.

And while there are campers, frankly, it is exagerated. I am a very ADD kind of person, I get distracted incredibly quickly. For instance, in Search and Destroy I'm bored to tears by, well, the camping. But if you play Ground War, FFA (my fav by far), etc etc, it is also very effective to for instance, Marathon run around with an SMG. somebody might go 10-2 by their camping, but you'll go 30-20 with your SMG running and gunning, and win the FFA.

Aand for the LAST TIME, air support is NOT OP'd. GET A GODDAMN STINGER CLASS OMFG.

Because the Shooter Fetish is still underway and probably wont die until next gen where consoles actually support MMOs properly.Birdy09

You honestly think shooters will die out as a huge genre? Call of Duty may well not be the #1 selling shooter next gen. But there will be shooters, and they will be important.

Because the games are good. Like it or not, COD is a AA-AAA franchise, and some people enjoy playing the games.

Personally, my hatred for Activision and the blasphemous abomination they did with the MP with Modern Warfare 2 doesn't negate that COD is still one of the finest shooters on the market.

I would assume those people like CoD because it's fun. Which shouldn't be surprising now should it?

COD 1, 2 and 4 was good but MW2 was horrible, WaW and 3 was decent. Even though I hate Activision for their milkage, I can notget past a decent Vietnam War game.
