Because they cannot milk masses for long...Imagine if Halo had a mod like CS...would anyone care about other shooters? heck would anyone care about the 360?

It all boils down to the point that: Make a game thats flashy, brainwash people into buying it....and then release one rehash after the other....

They don't hate modding, they love it. It gives the game more content for free and if somone makes an awsome mod it will result in more sales of the game for people wanting to play. If developers hated modding they wouldn't release mod tools programs

Most of the time publishers pay the devs extra money for mod tools avaible. And if the dev is owned by a publisher then if publisher would truly hate modding they would never release any tools at all.

PC publishers like modding, because it extends the life of a game and this extends the sales. Why would they hate this? And mods are the best way to find people who are worthy of getting hired.

I don't understand why people would stop caring about consoles if the consoles could have modded software.. If modding is such a great thing on PCs, why would it be bad for the consumer on consoles?

why don't they just sell mods tools and old engine to pc games instead they will make a ton of money that way. They really need to know how to market to pc gamers like vavle. dam some publishers are just so dum sometimes.

OP doesn't even know what she's talking about. Look at Team Fortress 2, some of the official maps are actually user-made maps, because Valve decided they were THAT DAMN GOOD.

explain to me why publishers still make PC games.... They can't mod on the 360 because its a closed platform...atleast thats the word Microsoft uses Playstation 3...because well thats developers right there...Unreal 3 had mods Wii ...because its the Wii

No offense, its pointless to say "like CS" because its there hasnt ever been anything like CS, to this day. Most mods give out quickly, most mods die when the original game gets a sequel or people just move on.

I disagree to an extent. Games like Civ3 and Neverwinter nights have very active mod communities, years after the sequels have come out. There are many who move on, but to say "most" is misleading.
