[QUOTE="HappySunnGuy"][QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"][QUOTE="HappySunnGuy"] plus, every casual likes shooters, which are going to be huge on wii.

Why do you say that? So far, the Wii's controller hasn't exactly proven to be "revolutionary" for FPS's. And besides, the FPS genre has always had a huge focus on graphics. And I don't the Wii is the console to develop for if you want to focus on graphics.

have you tried a wii shooter? my brother has only ever played one wii shooter: red steel. it is now his fgavourite game of all time. wii shooters are incredible, despite the learning curve. now me and him have headshot fests in red steel with the pistol cause were both so amazing at it, and its really fun.

Yeah, and its pretty hokey. Sure, you're precise when aiming at someone that's already in your field of view. But actually maneuvering and getting someone into your field of view is another story. In the end, I'm much better with a KB+M or even a normal controller. That's fine if you enjoy it more, but from what I've read the critics seem to agree with me.

thats easy to, you just have to get used to the screen shifting. me and him are both huge screen lookers, and we can turn around in the blink of an eye and start shooting eachother. its not hard doing anything in the shooters, and once you get used to the change, they are just plain more fun and immersive.

That is only because Ubi probably didn't take the time to make full advantage of the controller and take their time to make a solid control scheme. If Ninty themself made a shooter, im sure the control would be much better. Metroid prime 3 also looks pretty solid in the control department.

Right on the money. Nobody in their right mind would say the Wii will be the console to get for FPS. At least not for now anyway.

go out and try a wii shooter. once you get used to the aiming, their so much more fun and immersive than any 360 or xbox shooter ive played.

I've played and beaten Red Steel. F.E.A.R. on Xbox360 is better, Rainbow Six: Vegas is better, Halo 1 and 2 are certainly better, hell even Perfect Dark Zero is on par, maybe a bit better. And Halo 3 will obliterate it. Once you get past the novelty of the Wii remote, you realize what an average FPS this game is.

the single player on red steel isnt that good. the multiplayer is what i play and its amazing. and ive have my wii for 2 months, and played it almost every day. the novelty isnt wearing of the slightest bit. it is an average fps, but its just made great by the wii-mote. i garentee that this game would be absolute garbage on the 360. and when we get some not rushed fps games, then the experience will be made that much better.

[QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"]The Wii's message is basically this: "Gaming is dying, so instead of doing what console makers have always done we're going to be the complete opposite. By doing that, we're going to save gaming."

Who wouldn't be skeptical of that? Wouldn't you be skeptical if someone said "Eating through your mouth is over-rated, from now on you should eat food in the other direction."
Teufelhuhn

How about: "Bringing some fresh air in the gaming industry by creating a new way to interact and play games and expending the market."

I think that's the real message.

Well your message is basically the same as mine, just phrased a whole lot nicer.  :P

Anyway the point still stands:  they have a new way of interacting, why shouldn't we be skeptical?  I mean that's great and all if everythings pans out, but until then I see no reason not to be hesitant about a console that does everything differently than the other two.

Well... frankly.. I just wanna to respond at what you think was the Wii's message. I actually agree with you. It's normal to doubt cuz it's different. Most devs weren't sure about the Wii until E3 and its sells right now (I think...). Many still aren't. Even Nintendo themselves weren't sure. Through I'm a big Wii fan, I have my doubts and I admit that the Wii still needs to prove itself in many things like... hardcore gaming.
