Alot of the it's mentioned here it is always being slated, it got solid reviews and anyone i know who played it enjoyed it. Why so much hate for Resistance 2 here?

I like the game a lot. IDK why I do though. I shouldn't like it because I don't like many other FPS' out there.
Resistance was my first multiplayer game on PS3. never hated on it. its pretty good so im hoping for part 3 soon
I like the game TBH... can't say it's a PoS, but when it comes to the narrative of the game, it came out as a Halo clone when RFoM had what I think it was a better story telling.
Oh yeah, and the boss fights were really disappointed, specially the Leviathan.
No Split Screen Campaign like in R1
Other than that I loved it, the campaign was fun, (at least the bosses) some of the firefights could have been better, as well as sniping missions, Multiplayer was fun for a while too
I enjoyed it very much.. as a matter of fact I was going to buy it the other day but ended up getting uncharted 2... heck I might go get it again:P
I loved the sp, coop and MP.. it felt like a complete package
i say alot of bad things about sony and their exclusives because my 60 gig broke. but i must admit i liked res 2 better then kz3 **edit crapkz2 lol: dam,n psp version threw me off:x **and uncharted 2Alot of the it's mentioned here it is always being slated, it got solid reviews and anyone i know who played it enjoyed it. It seems like nobody can agree about whats wrong with it. I was thinking about getting it until I saw the amount of hate here. Although I wasn't exactly crazy about the demo for R1.tomarlyn
it had one of the best multiplayer layout around. I have a 360 too, if I want to play online it'll be gears 1 or halo 3, or even MW2[QUOTE="fastr"]If its anything like the first one I understand. I'll be staying away from the second. Pretty generic, bad AI, bad story, well just bad everything. ermacness

Well I loved it, but there where somethings I hated.
1. They ditched the Scifi horror WW2 atmosphere of R1, for 50's/cold war space invaders atmosphere.
2. So few weapons online/or offline. Your ******** Insomniac games, I expect 20+ (I want 30+) mind blowingly awesome scifi weapons. Not just over 10 guns, with most of them being the standard shooter weapons (assault rifle with grenade launcher, mini gun, shotgun, sniper rifle, ectect)
3. The bosses where well designed, but the fights were not. Most of the boss fights were dull and boring.

Actually, R2 online is WAY more stable than any of those game you mentioned, and many would agree that R2 online multiplayer on a technical side of things best MW2 and Gears 1 by a landslide. What you may consider "better" may not be for me. While i like Halo 3 multiplayer, and may find MW2 multiplayer very addictive, Gears 1 multiplayer on the other hand was atrocious and bested by far with R2's multiplayer.[QUOTE="fastr"] I have a 360 too, if I want to play online it'll be gears 1 or halo 3, or even MW2fastr

Exactly as you said, just because you think the R2 multiplayer was better doesn't mean I do. Gears 1 is by far the best multiplayer experience to be had. I still put it in some times for a couple rounds even tho it's years old and other great MP games have come out.[QUOTE="fastr"][QUOTE="ermacness"]What was the point of this post?:|

First, not all people who played it liked it (I being one). That said, I think R2 gets a bad rap because the strides it tried to take forward didn't work and the central design model of the game was altered which changed the experience from the first. R1, IMO, was loads better than R2 as a result of better storytelling and better controls in general. The MP options in R2, however, were better, but the gameplay still taints the well.
I like the campaign. MP is alright and I dislike Co-op
Lack of vehicles, weaker storyand weak boss battles heldthe campaignback from surpassing RFoM's.
The campaign had SO much potential and opportunity to be better than it was. Seriously, passing over the whole initial invasion of the mainland USA, which was what all the previews and trailers were going on and on about, and giving us a 'years later' text? That is beyond lame.
I don't hate it, I actually played it quite a bit, but where I think it gets a lot of hate is it's boring campaign and its competitive MP that tries really hard to be like Halo and Call of Duty at the same time, but never really excels at being either of them. The Online Co-op is really where its at on that game
Yea it was a major letdown as far as campaign is considered. I loved the mutliplayer though. Co-op is a blast. The campaign had SO much potential and opportunity to be better than it was. Campaign was dull & generic. I like the scale/designs of the bosses, and I was expecting some epic fight between them. But they were very disappointing. This first boss was this huge robot thing, and the way to defeat him was by waiting 'til he turned his back on you so you can shoot him with rockets. There's another boss where you just shoot two rockets to end the battle. And there's another one where you have to run around and lure him into a trap. The boss fights were disappointing for the most part.
Weapons placement was awful and killed a lot of the suspense. If you saw a rocket on the floor, you'll know a titan was going to come out.
Co-op was very repetitive & dull. Go to objective and fight waves of chimeras. Repeat 'til the mission is over. It got old very fast. The MP was pretty good though.
Sold it on ebay for7 dollars that shows how much people are willing to pay for this thrash game.
"2 weapons make it more tactical and fun" quote from Sony fanboy
GTFOH!@!@! Have you ever hear of the MORE THE MERRIER.
"The multiplayer is amazing" quote from Sony fanboy
Yeah if you never want to rank up and remain level 1 playing on dedicated servers. It is good but nothing revolutionazing, the ranked multiplayer on the other hand is the MOST UNFAIR system ive ever witnessed in my life. I could never kill a single person. Well i did like twice but died 20 times in the process AND its not BECAUSE I SUCK.
if you actually played the ranked multiplayer youll notice a bunch of people fully maxed out with best armor and weapons against a commando soldier like myself. Takes 4 to 5 shotguns in the head to kill such players whenI only take a single hit and im dead. I quit after the 2nd day. Too many generals tankers feeding off the nooblets.
"Singleplayer storyline is very compelling" quote from Sony fanboy
Right.... because the aliens(chimera) jumped from Russia to America without warning and now its fully invaded. The explanation of such events give little to NONE detail.
These fanboys get the highest votes with their biased reviews but when it comes down to playing with them online. You find them playing a multiplatform like MW2. Hmmm Hypocricy much? If you ever bump to this game dont get it. Get Resistance 1 which is still a much better version.
Terrible campaign. It was SUPER rushed, it had awful graphics and the effects where even worse. Normal bad graphics like that dont really bother me but to me everything about it just screamed either lazy or unfinished.. like some things in the campaign like when you were ontop of a tower and you looked down and there is just a google maps picture pasted on the ground you are just like um WTF IS THAT...
It got rid of good aspects of the first game like its health system and being able to hold multiple weapons at a time. Seriously the first resistance was a great game I have no idea why they felt the need to change so many basic things about it to try and make it more like halo. They should have built off the original more, like one of the biggest reasons I loved the first one was because I had all these weapons that did all this crazy stuff that I could play around with and kill guys and I always had access to pretty much all my weapons... Resistance 2 doesnt let you do that it says heres bullseye, and well throw you a rocket launcher once or twice and thats all you get..
And the multiplayer was awful as well... Terrible, terrible map and just over all game design... Too many people, its retarded, it took all the skill out of the game and matches just turned into one giant mess to the point where there were so many people its almost like the individual player didnt even matter anymore, You had really no control or impact over who would really win in bigger 60 match games. And there was really nothing tactical or anything about the gameplay either it was just hectic. The maps were huge, and there were only like 5 or 6 of them. And even one the smaller variations of the maps the game was still just bad.. The weapon load out + skill thing was a terrible idea, again not only changing the game to be more like Halo, but to be more like Call of Duty as well.. Hey insomniac how about making your series unique huh?.. Seriously wtf, you cant just take ideas that other shooters used recently, put them in your new game and call it a sequel.. Do something original jesus....
All they needed to do was expand on the first game and what made that alot of fun. Good interesting narrative/story, tons of crazy weapons to kill guys with and fast furious, yet balanced multiplayer. Instead they just said, screw the story and campaign, well just make it more colorful, take ideas from COD and Halo, and call it a day
I have no idea either its one of the few ps3 games I thoroughly enjoyed, I loved its online component and 8 player coop, its story was great, it was a superior game compared to resistance 1. resistance 1 was a n64 game in reality when I first came upon a bush in that game and realized it was 2 2d textures set in a cross formation and scripted to turn with my view of them a technique I first saw in mario 64....
I loved resistance 2, I cant wait for 3.
If its anything like the first one I understand. I'll be staying away from the second. Pretty generic, bad AI, bad story, well just bad everything. fastrAre you calling Fall of Man bad? Seriously one of the best single players I've played on a shooter. Was hard but not cheap, great enemies, weapons, level design. Great, intriguing story with good presentation (I found it very fitting).
Who're you talking to, man? :?Its boring, linear, repetetive, a bad storyline, bad guns, console fps.

I actually liked it better than the first(better campaign though shorter), and better graphics. It sucks that it didn't have co-op offline for campaign like the first but the co-op online is great. I know a lot of people also complain about getting rid of the weapons wheel.
You can play R2's co-op mode 2p splitscreen offline if you want. It's hard as hell with only 2 players, but that makes it kind of fun at the same time. The first time me and a buddy beat Chicago with only a soldier and spec ops, I had to jump up out of my chair and proclaim my godliness.I actually liked it better than the first(better campaign though shorter), and better graphics.
