One thing i'v noticed on SW lately is that there is so much hate towards Call of duty games especially modern warfare 2. how come? ok yea MW2 might get annoying sometimes with noob tubers but its not that bad, campers are no big deal tbh and killstreaks like chopper gunner or AC130 also easy if you have a back up class with cold blooded on. anwyays why so much hate? personally i enjoy call of duty more than any other FPS game out there. looks like from most polls here that nobdoy going to get black ops even tho it looks much better than mw2.

Just wondering tho what is the most part of call of duty you guys dont like?

It is what the game stands for that people hate, not the game itself.

Pretty much this. I think the game gets way to much heat too,(its a good not great, but good game) but honestly Activision and Bobby Kotick are behind evil, which is pretty much the main reason I won't be buying Black Ops.

I mainly just can't stand the community. I'd much rather play other games that aren't plagued by squeeky little kids and hot headed frat boys who haven't played any video games besides Call of Duty and think they are Gods at video games because they're good at Call of Duty

Personally i see nothing wrong with the games, maybe if they just remove noob tubing it will be fine and fix these glicthes, other than that the games are quite enjoyable, been playing mw2 since it launched, havent got bored of it yet :P

I had a bad experience with someone while playing CoD4. I owned this guy in a S&D match and everyone was making fun of him so he googled my PSN and found my profile on GS and found out my college and stuff from my blog and was sending me death threats and stuff for "embarrassing him" and was saying all this other crap. Since that happened on a CoD game, I've always had a hatred for the community

Because its popular. Personally, I don't get a lot of the complaints. Yes the game takes skill, if you're saying it doesn't then quite frankly you're lying to yourself. But above all, the game just wants to be something fun to play, not "teh ultra competitive shootar", and it succeeds quite well.

Nah what happened was that we were playing SnD and he was camping in a room so I snuck into the room and planted a claymore right behind him and waited there just staring at him looking through the window. Apparently his teammates were yelling at him to turn around. I shot him in the back once with my pistol so he turned around and died by the claymore and I was laughing at him afterwards. He basically exploded in rage and did all that stuff

Because the multiplayer is an unbalanced mess that rewards camping over any other play style? Oh, and the single player is run of the mill with it's invisible walls, AI-less enemies, mess of a story, same ole' run n gun gameplay, etc.

I'm more of a fan of single player FPS, and while CoD's campaigns used to be enjoyable on a basic level (CoD2 especially), the CoD campaigns start to feel more and more like tacked-on crap, with MW2 as perfect example.

Simple. COD is unblanced, unrealistic, noobish and simply not satisfying for many gamers...why? we don't like the fact that you can die and kill so easily, no challenge...the game isn't intense or competitive..it's just about who shoots first...thats it. Many seem to just camp, seeing how it's so easy to die. Knifing someone in the foot kills them....*facepalm* I hate the game with a passion.

Many PC gamers hate Modern Warfare 2 for being stripped down but that's getting fixed by Call of Duty: Black Op's proper PC support.

I don't hate the game, but nothing about proves it is any good. I don't care what reviews say, when I played the game, I experienced none of it, and they never played online as it seems. The game is still unbalanced and broken, and no one's tried to fix it. Hopefully Black Ops brings it back a little.

BTW, I was talking about MW2, not all of Call of Duty. The first two were great, but the rest weren't.

I don't hate it (I love Modern Warfare), but I believe the reasons it gets hate is it's generic, bad AI (personally, I like the AI. It reminds me of action movies like Commando), Activision, etc.

the only cod that deserves AAA is WAW(haven't played the first one) imo, all IW COD games suck. treyarch is a much better dev WAW>>all cods.

the reason cod gets hate because:

1rehashes yearly

2. broken multiplayer(deathstreaks, killstreaks, campers, unbalanced weapons, stupid weapon upgrading system)

3. most campaigns are pathetic. 3 hours? are you kidding me?

4. 15£ map packs.

5. Its activation.

BO does seem to be shaping up well, and its made by treyarch, so i do have some confidence.

-The recycling of the IP -The complete lack of original ideas -The copy-paste singleplayer component -The lack of evolution since the first -The hilarious way it takes itself so seriously -The broken multiplayer aspects -The lack of demanding players, rather 'everyone's a winner' -The multiplayer community -Activision Etc. - COD used to be one of my favorite shooters, I played COD1 and UO religiously. How times have changed.

Not so much call of duty, but activision. Take their customers for fools and sell them a product that has basically already been made just been 'updated' with a few extra touches.

Good series but when a game starts to come year after year the improvements are very small. Also i think Battlefield (bad company) and Halo are better series.

Pretty much why i dislike it so much. I don't dislike for the sake of it, but after playing the game, i just felt the same as the one's i quoted, and eventually i hated the fact that i spent my hard earned money on it.. Stupid mistake of mine.

This in so many different ways, On the train a couple of months ago when SMG2 came out there was a bunch of Primary school kids who would not shut up about CoD, when 1 of them mentioned that they could not play CoD for awhile because they where going to get Galaxy 2 it was like throwing a bloody pig in a pool of sharks for the next 30 minutes all you could hear in that carriage was gay taunts and racial jokes (he was Indian) simply because he dared to like a game more than CoD. It is annoying as hell having to listen to kids like this go on and on about CoD and bad mouth any other game that isn't CoD.

What people usually analyze is how many games the franchise releases(like Halo). If you see the game as a single entity its truly a good game.Me and my buddies loved CoD since the first and probably to the end of the series. I mean the game play is so sharp and fast paced that we actually loved it. We played BC2, TFT,Crysis and we had lots of fun but CoD gave us the competitive feeling like what we got from Quake III arena and HL.I have to agree with kids ranting and shouting stuff about CoD (which I want to strangle them sometimes) but thats how influential/addictive the game is....

Campaigns are linear corridors with non-existant A.I. and repetitive enemies.

Multiplayer is team deathmatch focused with no objective based modes and demands low skill (almost no spread, almost no recoil, high damage x bullet).

Also, MW lacks dedicated servers, which means no clans, cr4py connections and host advantage.

Its less about hating the game and more about hating Kotick. Its somewhat wierd since Kotick has been CEO of Activision for like 20 years. The same goes for Blizz hate too, which once more is odd becouse Blizzard is owned by Vivendi, which has the majority of stocks in the whole Acti Blizz merger and Kotick is not the CEO of the Vivendi part.
