One thing about steam I don't like is once I have a game. I can't sell it. I sell my games all the time. Can't do it with steam.

Steamworks sucks ***.
Steam, however, is awesome, and if you dont like it dont ujse it, which is why Steamworks sucks ***.
Well that's merely a choice you have to live with then. People buy DLC all the time knowing they can't resell it. The same principle applies here. One thing about steam I don't like is once I have a game. I can't sell it. I sell my games all the time. Can't do it with steam.

Well can't argue with you there. I personally wouldn't mind if they implemented a way of transferring games to other accounts, asking a small payment which goes to both devs and Steam. Although I doubt it would pickup if you see how low some of the games go for. Bioshock1 for $5 isn't going to be much better anywhere else. One thing about steam I don't like is once I have a game. This, its only an issue with steamworks games cause any other time you have the choice of not using steam, and you know full well what your getting into when you buy a game on steam.
[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]Welcome to the past decade of PC gaming. Anyone who buys something on Steam should be factoring in a total lack of resell ability. But then again, anyone who has been buying PC games know they've had one-use codes for ages and other than rare cases where a used game can still be played singleplayer (or cracked to do so) it's no different than Steam. Are we going to complain that we can't return half-eaten bread to the grocery store next?hellhundI just factor in the lack of resale value when I consider purchasing PC games. Since I hold out for the great deals, I'm not upset that I can't trade in my $7 L4D2. The money I'm saving is far more than I'm losing in a lack of trade-in value for a higher priced game.

The same thing pops up with PSN/WiiWare/XBLA games too, as people can't resell them.
[QUOTE="AnnoyedDragon"]Same here, i love going back and playing older games.. just shame we have to use things like DOSBox to get them working with newer OS's.Interesting thing, Steam. A lot of the retro games actually seem to make use of fan-made projects designed to resurrect those old gaming resources in the first place. The first two Dooms, for example, appear to employ the aforesaid DOSBox, while older LucasArts games, IINM, actually use SCUMMVM.I haven't got a mainstream gamers attention span, I don't feel the need to constantly exchange old games to get the new ones.
I actually take pride in the fact that I still own every game I have ever purchased, even the pre 2000 ones. It's nice to be able to go back and play old games, their game play doesn't deteriate with their graphics.

And the amount of money you get for selling the games back is probably less than the sales difference between Digital and retail copy. You'd end up on average with the same amount of money, if not more by going digital. Yet you'd still retain the copy of said games. One thing about steam I don't like is once I have a game.
