Like hell it is. Much better grip, no battery pack, and weighs less. Analog stick placement feels so much better, especially since they're at the same height. Triggers don't suck. It doesn't have triggers, it has buttons. Triggers are for firing mechanisms.

Don't know why anyone would want to play with the bulky, clumsy 360 piece of crap.

DrakesHaloGears

you must have some tiny hands if you think the analogue placement feels better. they're not nearly as responsive. and the triggers are the premature ejaculation of controllers. you barely touch them and they just blow their load all over the screen. they feel flimsy as well. the whole controller just feels cheap. you cant even charge it with the console turned off and the cable that comes with it is super short.

Controllers are not sexual objects! You need to get laid ! And no, I don't mean from your 360 console like normally perv! That's doesn't count!

boring. you're a terrible troll. thats no fun

The 360 controller has the right heft, your thumbs naturally reach the analogs, the buttons are placed perfectly second only to the GCN controller, the triggers are a dream come true, the vibration feedback is incredible. The PS3 controller won't even let me change my batter if its battery runs out, which it has. I am in essence stuck with a wired controller. The Dualshock is a relic of its era, an era that is now more than 15 years in the past, and it shows. The controller is cramped, the analog stick placement makes no sense, and overall, it is unsuited to modern gaming. I'm sorry, but that's just how it is.charizard1605

You praise the Gamecube controller. Sorry, but your opinion is no longer valid.

How many times have you charged your controller? I've had all of mine since 2008. None die yet and they all last about 10 hours worth. Modern gaming is all about shooters bro. You need both sticks for that. Placement of them being the same height is perfect. I know you lems love buying crappy products, but damn you think you'd know when you're getting a crappy product.

Chubby do you use 360 or PS3/motionjoy on your comp?

whiskeystrike

PS3 and Motioninjoy. Better controller and more customization, plus I don't have to buy some licensed piece of crap if I want wireless.

What if the crumbs get into my controller :(

This also promotes being a fatass since you'll never have to leave the seat unless you want to take a dump

NoodleFighter

PS3 controller then. Easier to take apart and put back together.

They'll figure out something for that next.

Nope. Only American size hands here, which are medium-large. The sticks just feel so much more easier to use. Not quite circle pad easy, but a lot more comfortable than the crap found on the 360 pad. Buttons are quicker to respond, and the D-Pad isn't ass. Analog back-buttons don't bother me any, since I switch any button that shooters to L1/R1, as it should be.

At least I can charge it out of the box. I use them on my PC as well, and they charge while it's off. Cable length doesn't matter. I have 4 15ft cords for them before I bought a bluetooth adapter. They were maybe .60c each.

well i mostly play shooters and ps3 controller is unusable for me. joysticks are too cramped, using L1/R1 is stupid for shooters and the flimsy triggers are useless for anything.

We know you mostly play shooters... you're a lem... what else would you be able to play? :P

360 has amazing triggers and analog sticks.

PS3's buttons and directional buttons feel better.

Wiimote is good for Nintendo games but that's all I'll say.

Keyboard and mouse is vital to a key few genres, but is overall overrated on this board. I don't like WASD for movement centric games.

Sorry, but no. That's a very flawed argument. With shooters you either shoot, or you don't. There is no need for pressure sensitive buttons. They will only increase those few milliseconds of time it takes for the action to go off. With a regular button such as L1/R1, you don't have this problem. Why devs always map the fire button to the back buttons is mind-boggling.

Nothing wrong with the 360s analogue stick placement or the triggers. My only beef is RB/LB arent that comfortable for me to use repeatedly.

It does feel wrong or weird though...or at least its not as smooth as it is on the DS3 IMO...Maybe that's just me, but I never understood the fanboy forum hype/praise over the 360 controller. Fanboys act like Jesus himself made the controller. Its not perfect, and there are some flaws.

because guns have triggers! so putting the shoot button on a trigger is the only logical choice! IMMERSION! :o

Dead zone is more noticable on the 360 joystick so it takes a little getting used to if you are used to the PS3s stick. That isn't a bad thing exactly its just different thats all.

I would hesitate to say the controller is the exact reason for why 360 is the more popular machine for shooters. I would dare say that the online community on the 360 is much better for social gaming, and people enjoy playing there shooters with friends.

Lead platform because it's easier than the PS3 to develop for. The only difference between the PS3 and 360 versions are nothing devs couldn't fix with 1-2 weeks of work.

I am PC, so if me not buying Bros of War 3 or Modern Brofare 3 means minority, then sign me up.

I gave my Wavebird to my cousins when I sold them my Wii. Small controller, obtrusive battery pack, felt more painful to grab it than anything, crappy L/R buttons that felt like a child's toy. Oh, and the analog stick sucks. Now THAT is uncomfortable. I never hear anyone outside of GS praise that controller. If anyone brings it up, it's because of Smash Bros. Those are the few who refuse to move onto the vastly superior CCP.

And yes I did, lemmy Mclem.

I love how this thread turned into which controller is better. The fact is, PS3 controller doesn't have a hot pocket holder, but PS3 system itself is superior to 360, because you can cook hotpockets on top of it.

thats not true considering all the kinect games coming out lately. but 360 does have fable and forza and alot of older games that are not shooters...(talking about exclusives specifically) They got lots of genres if you include multiplats. Which is what most people play...

I wouldnt thank any game. Microsoft just did a really good job with interfacing the 360 to be a social gaming device. They will lose that advantage next gen though, you can garantee the competition will use a similar framework for there UIs.

Why would I be mad when I get to play the best of both worlds in multi plats AND AWESOME exclusives with my PS3! There is no need for me to even keep my 360, and its been in my closet for months now! You sound bitter that your mommy didn't buy you a PS3 for Christmas! The PS3 has already produced much better exclusive games then Gears could ever hope to be! And Halo is a thing of the past! Call of Duty is the present FPS king! I get to play them all! I'm sorry that you cant!

good for you. it doesnt change the fact that since halo launched every shooter has used it as a template on how to do a shooter on consoles. think whatever you want, the halo franchise is the most influential shooter on consoles. and its all thanks to the hamburger controller and its triggers

Out all the controllers I have tried, I have never had any issues with any of them. There may be flaws with some, but it's nothing I can't get used to. I think most of you here just like to bitc* about everything or over exaggerate because of your pathetic biases. There is nothing wrong with 360s analog sticks or triggers and the dualshock is fine. *shakes head*

No s**t. It has such wide appeal because of how casual it is. Same reason why CoD trumps it now.

I love how this thread turned into which controller is better. The fact is, PS3 controller doesn't have a hot pocket holder, but PS3 system itself is superior to 360, because you can cook hotpockets on top of it. chocooman

Yep. This thread went the completely opposite direction I intended for it. Knew it was gonna happen though.

[QUOTE="DrakesHaloGears"] Its not for the reason you think it is! There are many reasons, and that isn't one of them! Also, its kind of funny, because the 360 has nothing but shooters. Gears/Halo/Gears/Halo.DrakesHaloGears

yup, and both are better than any shooter the ps3 has produced. u mad bro?

Why would I be mad when I get to play the best of both worlds in multi plats AND AWESOME exclusives with my PS3! There is no need for me to even keep my 360, and its been in my closet for months now! You sound bitter that your mommy didn't buy you a PS3 for Christmas! The PS3 has already produced much better games then Gears could ever hope to be! And Halo is a thing of the past! Call of Duty is the present FPS king! I get to play them all! I'm sorry that you cant!

meh, i have a ps3. barely use it. waiting for mlb the show to come out so i can dust it off

Halo is at MLG and a recognized e-sport.

How is it casual?

I gave my Wavebird to my cousins when I sold them my Wii. Small controller, obtrusive battery pack, felt more painful to grab it than anything, crappy L/R buttons that felt like a child's toy. Oh, and the analog stick sucks. Now THAT is uncomfortable. I never hear anyone outside of GS praise that controller. If anyone brings it up, it's because of Smash Bros. Those are the few who refuse to move onto the vastly superior CCP.

And yes I did, lemmy Mclem.

Trust me, I've almost never heard anyone criticize that controller, you're among the first. Then again, you're also criticizing the Xbox controller. And I guess the cycle is complete then! I've been called everything by now! Sheep, cow, lemming and hermit! Does that make me a manticore? :o

No keyboard/mouse for an FPS automatically means casual. Not to mention the incredible amount of auto-aim it has. Intentionally handicapping yourself doesn't make you not casual.

Not at all. Casual games are casual. When they're made to appeal to a wide target audience, you have no other choice unless you want it to fail.

To be a manticore you have to have a holier than thou attitude and act like you don't have a preference to any of the systems.

Mostly because no one played the Gamecube, cause it didn't sell! :o /snap

Also the Xbox controller was even worse than the GC's controller. Hell I'd rather play with the Dreamcast's.

No. It makes you normal. Welcome to the club.

Sorry, but no. That's a very flawed argument. With shooters you either shoot, or you don't. There is no need for pressure sensitive buttons. They will only increase those few milliseconds of time it takes for the action to go off. With a regular button such as L1/R1, you don't have this problem. Why devs always map the fire button to the back buttons is mind-boggling.

zarshack

well there is a reason the 360 is the lead platform for the biggest shooters out there so you're probably in the minority.

I would hesitate to say the controller is the exact reason for why 360 is the more popular machine for shooters. I would dare say that the online community on the 360 is much better for social gaming, and people enjoy playing there shooters with friends.

You've obviously never played on XBL. Its the single worst community I've ever experienced, and I wish that I could say I'm exaggerating, but sadly I'm not :( I've never , in my life, encountered as many immature, ignorant, xenophobic, and racist people as I have encountered over the years on XBL. Its like all the filth of America swarms to XBL. Any one that talks with an accent is bashed because of that by the pre pubescent 12 year old xbox kiddies. Seeing what I've seen over XBL makes me.sad for the future of our kids. What happened.to us as people?
