Why the freak is this called system wars, if the PC beats everything?

It would be interesting to see an open platform console. I don't know why third party console developers don't get together with somebody like Toshiba or Philips to make one.

So playing on a videocard that came out the same time as the 360 is the same as playing as one that came out last month? :| PC games require more power every year and more Ram is required. This year you need 2gigs to run games smoothly. Next year it's going to be 3gigs I bet. Yeah that is using hardware efficient. :roll:

... of course hardware is going to advance... thats an advantage, but usage of the olderhardware improves over time still.... Thing is, thenewer hardware enables further max settings. And3GB may end up being therecommended in 2 years but for now, its gonna stay at 2GB because thats a lot of RAM. Crysis is only using 1.5GB of RAM even on absolute max settings.

Um Crysis on a 7800gtx runs like absoute crap on high settings. Id rather play UT3 on a 7800gtx on high settings then Crysis on mid UT3 will simply look better unless you are playing on the high settings. PC's simply do not get optmized as well as consoles later down the line.

... never said that, just said that the hardware does get used more efficiently down the line... Its not like better hardware usage is exclusive to consoles... thing, PC's can be upgraded.

Also, I was just using Crysis as an example, but UT3 is an even better example. UT3 on a 7800 GTX runs at max with like 70 FPS and looks great.

I was introduced to UT2004 back in the day when I was PC savvy, on Family PCs ... struggled to get 35 FPS on compeltely lowest settings yet it sparked my love for the game , a few months later ( as this was towards the end of the PCs life 5 years ) when I built my own PC and played it at max, it breathed new life into the game, this also applied to Half-Life 2 & CS and many others.

I can play Crysis on High/Very High (some) at a steady framerate now, and still havea great experiance, then ... 2 years later, everything maxxed effortlessly is just as rewarding, gives you an excuse to play through it again aswell.

But then again im ahead of the curve this time, only Crysis has given my PC a run for its money everything else has beena joke to max ( 16x AA in mind. )

You don't get any more generic exclusives than the PC market.

farcry was never ported....Ubisoft created a spinoff of the game...that was completly different then the original.....

because they couldnt put the open levels unto consoles.

My PC cost less thanthe 3 consoles combined and the games are nearly 50% less in price :D

but sport games (madden 08, NBA 2k8 are better or for consoles or arent even on PC), racing games (Forza and GT), fighting games (SSBB, Virtual Fighter, Soul Caliber, Tekken etc etc), action adventure games (Ninja Gaiden, GOW), and even RPG ill take on the console. PC never got games like Mario, MG, Zelda, Final Fantasy and now Mass Effect so I give RPG. All the top exclusive franchises are for the consoles.

RTS and MMORPGs are my least favorite games and that is all they offer that they have better than consoles.

over the last 2 years they have had 5 exclusive AAAs. 2 are expansions to RTS games, 1 is an expansion to a MMORPG game, 1 is a RTS game and then the only other one is a racing game.

fine, World Soccer Winning Eleven 9, Oblivion, WOW: BC, galacatic Civ...and thats just since the 360 launch

coincidently the only AAA non-FPS games on the 360 are Oblivion and Forza 2.

being mostly represented by 2 generes is a lot beter then being represented by one.

Actually... racing game has been on the PC so far this gen... GTR2 is an AMAZING Racing Sim.

Answer to the topic title: Because it does not.

the best system is not determined by the number of AAA and AA games as given by gamespot. If it was, option 1 would have won.. but option 3 did. Therefore, other factors matter(ie; diversity of library, unique games, that is to say that sometimes games that don't score incredible may actually be EXTREMELY important to a library still; ie hotel dusk for the ds)

GTA4 will be o nthe PC 7 months later, as it is written since SONY bought away GTA3 ... scums.
