The launch price was 279.99. It went up when the dollar dropped. Retailers put up the price to prevent them from losing money. Now that the dollar is high, expect the price to go down.

The same with the PS3. 805$ for a damn PS3 with the taxes included... do you feel better? You can always get a Wii on ebay that will cost you more than the actual price point due to the huge demands... or get to USA and buy one and get back to your town if you live near the lines.
