JAN - Lost Planet

FEB - Crackdown, Halo 3 Beta

MAR - GRAW 2

APR - Lost Isles

MAY - Forza 2

JUN - Blue Dragon

JUL - Dark Sector, Bioshock

AUG - Madden 08, All-Pro Football 2K8, Virtua Fighter 5

SEP - Splinter Cell: Conviction

OCT - GTA IV w/ exclusive content

NOV - Halo 3, Too Human

DEC - Mass Effect (I think this will be delayed from Spring 07 to Holiday 07)

*I know that some of these are multi-plat, but I'm just showing how there is no drought through 2007 for the 360. Besides, I think all of these games are pretty high-profile and will all sell well or very well.

This thread is a joke. Only 2 of those games sell systems by themselves. Splinter Cell? ROFL.

I think people forget that the 360 isn't just going to stop selling and wait for the competition to catch up. While the PS3 is closing in on 10 million sold, the 360 may be as high as 18-20 million.

The point of the thread is...When you have a line-up as deep, well-rounded, and spread out as this, what reason is there to buy a PS3/Wii over a 360 (this year)? The answer, for any non-fanboy is...there is no reason. Not to mention the fact that the 360 has a larger game library, and a lot of Platinum hits/budget games allready on shelves.

Dear lemmings.  If this is even remotely true, then why did you all buy the Xbox back in the day when the PS2 had a line-up deeper, more well-rounded and spread out than the Xbox or 360 ever had?  Yet for some reason none of you lemmings even remotely liked the PS2 and instead opted for the Xbox with its sparses, less deep and less rounded library.

Yet for some reason you now think this is gaming perfection to ignore the simple fact the Wii is crushing the 360 in monthly/weekly sales and will likely be the #1 console by the end of this year.

Then I congratulate you.  However, I find it pretty ridiculous that the most fanboyish lemmings suddenly thing that a well-rounded library is all it takes to pull in customers.  It's ridiculous because they all bought a console for irrational reasons in the first place.

I agree, the 360 has an amazing line-up...but I bought a Wii first because it's a lot cheaper and for the price of the 360 now, I got the Wii and two games.  Plus the Wii is wicked fun and has a good line-up on the way this year as well.  Meanwhile, I can wait until the 360 drops in price once or twice before buying it.

I'm sure many other casuals (who drive the market) feel the same way.  The Wii is much cheaper and a blast to play.  Plus, the fact it is still impossible to find makes people want it more.  The simple fact is this industry is purely popularity driven and right now the Wii shows no sign of losing that popularity.  They are outselling the 360 and PS3 combined.

For anyone to act as if that is meaningless and a reason the Wii won't outsell the 360 either is kidding themselves or doesn't know how to add.

The difference then, was the Xbox was obviously at least 2x as powerful as the PS2 and it showed right away, it launched with Halo (one of the best games ever), it had a built-in hard drive (PS2 didn't), it could rip music (PS2 couldn't), and it sold for the same price as the PS2. You see Microsoft could have tried to justify a higher price, seeing as how you were certainly getting more for your money, but instead decided to lose at least $200 per system. Why you ask? So that Xbox didn't stop sell one month after launch, just like the PS3 has.

Hard to say about the Wii...sales appear to be slowing down (as in they aren't necessarily selling out before stores open) and the software drought is the worse of the three (or two, if you wanna). The PS3 hasn't hit Europe yet, either. They could sell a million overnight and change the landscape a little.

and heres why they will catch up

ps3 isnt fully worldwide yet, theres hardly any games out
and both of them sell MUCH better worldwide

sony will not lead by as large a gap as previously, if they're lucky enough to lead at all
but it's going to be seriously close, they all have different target audiences though

I don't think Microsoft will drop their price this year, because They are outselling Sony right now, and will still have a larger install base than Sony by years end. Besides Halo 3 is coming out, and that will sell systems wether the price drops or not. I do think that they will drop the price in early 2008, which will help them keep pace with the Wii, or maybe out-pace the Wii, depending on wether the Wii keeps selling as well as it has.

umm.. Wii reached about 40% of X360 RIGHT NOW :|, by the end of march 2007 it will be around 60%, AFTER THAT nintendo stated it will increase the productivity of Wii a million EACH MONTH!!, and that will meet the release of super paper mario and probably pokemon battle revolution, if that's no indication then think again, Wii can easily outsell the X360 this year WITHOUT it's killerapps. and BTW not all of those games are sellers.

Just to clarify, I never stated that all of the games were system-sellers. It is a line-up, to be viewed as a whole and compared to what the other systems are offering in terms of quality timeliness and quantity.

The wii has 3 games that are system sellers this year for the hardcore and casuals: Metroid Prime 3: Corruptions, Mario Galaxy, and Smash Brothers: Brawl

The wii also has 3 games that are system sellers this year for non-gamers: Wii Music, Wii Heath Pack, and Wii Play

Then you have games like: Sonic and the Secret Rings(hopefully restore Sonic to its former glory), Super Paper Mario, DragonQuest Swords(most likely a hit in Japan), Manhunt 2(for the mature crowd), The Godfather: Blackhand Edition(mature as well), Guitar Hero, No More Heroes, Fire Emblem, Resident Evil: UC, Project Hammer(new IP from Nintendo), Disaster: Day of Crisis(new IP from Nintendo), Sword of Legendia, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, Sadness(even though it is concept art at the moment, I'm still excited), Pokemon Battle Revolution, Animal Crossing(another big hit in Japan), Mario Party 8, Mario Strikers Charged, Dewy's Adventure. And possibly many more games that have not been announced yet.

Then you have tons of VC titles that are a bonus. So I do believe the wii definitely has a possibility to catch up with the 360 this year.
