why the ps3 is better than the 360.

first of all i would like to point out that i have owned both console's, but choose to keep the ps3 for these reason's. i bought my ps3 slim about a month ago and cannot say how impressed i am. first of all as soon as you get it out of the box the quality hit's you in the face- the sturdyness of the plastic case, the perfectly flush fitting of the plastics and the lovely feel of the whole console that tell's you straight away that this is not a budget machine unlike the cheap, tacky feel of the xbox 360. when you start it up it is almost silent and the button's have a smooth quality feel with uber cool micro light's to tell you the machine is switched on and that a disc is loaded. and did i mention the beauty that is the disc slot instead of a 20th century disc tray. it was clear that this machine was here to impress and it does just that. it's not just a games console but a multimedia machine that has ton's of great software like the dvd upscaler, vidstore and internet explorer to name a few. the graphics are simply beautiful and the ps3 is deffernatly on par if not better than the 360 and i love the way that the ps3 silently play's games like a perfectly engineered machine should unlike my old 360 that sound's like a harrier jump jet taking off and you could used to hear it downstair's if it was running:( and over the last year sony have deffernatly been on top with the game's being released. basically im bowled over by the ps3 experiance and simply cannot see why anyone would buy a 360. yeah sure the basic 360 model is cheap, but after you have bought a harddrive and a wireless adaptor and a xbox live subscription you actually paying more than a £250gb ps3 slim. i know fanboy's are going to argue that the xbox love experiance is better. i agree that it does have more of a community feel simply because most people have mic's. but i don't want a 12year old american screaming at me that im a nub. and psn is not as dead as you might think alot of ps3 owner's have brought a mic so the experiance is nice and overall maturer. anyone who feel's for any reason that the 360 is better please let me know. im so glad i upgraded to the ps3 and would never go back to a 360 now.

Paragraphs would help and I do perfer the PS3 over the 360 because of a stronger game line up.

The PS3 Slim isn't silent, and it's a far cry of the nice design of the fat PS3 -- especially in regards to cooling to which the Slim runs hotter than even my Xbox 360. Also, best try to separate your thoughts into paragraphs so it's easier to read for the rest of us. I hate walls of text, hence why I didn't even read all of your post.Stevo_the_gamer

Aside from the fact that this is like the 10,000th post about cows in love with their PS3s. I will say I don't think either of my systems is cheaply put together. I like the look of the Xbox 360, and the PS3 Slim. I prefer the PS3 Phat for it's shinny cover, but it was a pain in the butt to keep clean, and scratched waaaaaaay too easy.

I do like the PS3 slim way better than that p.o. crap PS2 slim..now that was a system that looked like it would fall apart if you sneezed near it. Crappy little buttons, a DVD drive cover that threatened to come off in your hand every time it was opened.

The only reason I even got a PS3 is for those Uber Cool Micro Lights that you mentioned

While I agree with most of your post as I tried a 360 also and was so dissapointed with the build quality and the loud aircraft noise of it that I took it back. Though I tried 3 games Halo 3, GEOW2 and ME the only one I really liked was ME so I'm thinking of buying a gaming laptop to do just that since I need a computer anyhow. Though I disagree about the slim being better lookingthan the fat PS3 especially the one I have with the chrome(MGS4 80GB BC Version)which is really nice looking and has better quality looking parts than the slim(would make sense since they made the slim cheaper). Though the slim is well slim. LOL. I don't really play online much so PSN serves me fine since it is free also.

PSN in theory is equal to LIve. No way is it in practice, imo. A couple of days ago, there were threads comparing communities, and how LIve is full of little kids. Well reading many of the statements of opinion in the form of fact here, I'd say SW is full of a lot of kids as well. Now if everyone on PSN DID NOT have to buy a mic, we would see how many kids are on there as well. Hell my friends list on PSN is full of co workers and still only 2 have mics! So adults don't buy them either. I don't blame either console for the lack of a brain on the other side of a headset. Just mute 'em.cainetao11

I have both, as you can see in my signature. I can say, that when comparing the two, it is very difficult to say one is better than the other. Exclusives wise, I have always been a fan of Xbox, but I have always loved the fact PSN is free and easy to use. At this point, I can say my 360 only gets more playtime because of the exclusives out right now. When Heavy Rain comes out, I expect it to flip the other way. But trying to argue that there is one superior system is really difficult to do.

A agree my PS3 slim is very quiet. Of course I didn't have the fat to compair it to, but I don't notice it on when I'm gaming or watching movies. The heat on the other hand I do notice. It exhaust's way more heat out the back than my Jasper 360. I was kind of worried at first about this until I seen a PS3 that was taken appart and the way the fan set up is. I have no doubt after seeing the fan set up that the slim will have little to any heat problems.

Um non of that has to do with the GAMES lol.

I own both and I play the 360 a ton more.

XBL is far better then PSN.

360 has better games then PS3 (not according to me, according to metacritic & Gamespot)

360 has better downloadable titles.

PS3 is better for single player gamers, 360 better for online gamers.

360 has better RPGs, Shooters, Racing (3 of my fav genres)

PS3 has better Sports, Platformers & Action/adventure

I like my PS3 but I like my 360 better, just because I got it first and had it longer.

In terms of the aesthetics the ps3 beats the 360, however the 360 elite can hardly be called tacky. And reffering to the noise, microsoft implemented the ability to install games to the harddrive which means this isnt a problem at all ( not with my 360 elite anyway). The reason you should prefer one console over the other should really be the exclusive games.
