[QUOTE="rhythm2345"]wii is fun for like an hour....after that there is no point to having cause the fun level doesnt last...Coyo7e

well theres your problem. you have to actually insert a game in, the wii itself is not a game

It is clear what he was getting at.

While his statement seems like nothing more then flamebait to me, it does not make your statement clever or cute at all.

I played the Wii for about 6 weeks as I went through all the games I wanted to try. Not it just sits there wating for Fatale Frame.

so..... tell me I am wrong, please!

well i thought the remark was funny.

anyway, i cant tell you your wrong cause thats just your opinion. you might not have fun with it, but millions of others do.

so millions of opinion > your opinion. sorry

Again justifying your opinion stance by saying "see, look at the sales".

Well, I have logged onto halo and seen 1.3 million logged in at that moment.

I check gamespy and there are still 50k + people at any given time playing the original CS, much less those playing source at the time.

I will be blunt.

All the soccer moms and senior citezens in the world wont change the fact that there are probably fewer gamers that prefer the Wii over the other consoles.

Nintendo is appealing to a broader audience and keeping their base happy. Kudos for Ninty. They are a quality company.

im justifying my point with sales. sales is the only objective way to figure out whats going on, cause its ridiculous arguing over game ratings or whatever cause those are completely subjective.

you can argue over opinions, but you cant argue over facts.

sales are facts. game and console preference are just opinions

Just looking at the sales does not even come close to telling the whole story and you know it.

In SW terms Wii is winning, yep I agree. But well all know how absurd SW is, that is why we like it. If you take SW rules seriously you need a wake up call.

I constantly see sheep support their argument with something like sales or reviews, but when they don't just jive with their opinion they ignore them. (poor sales of games, bad reviews for a lot of wii games but SMG is Goty). Whatever supports your already held beliefs.

It not sheeps fault I am accusing them of doing it more. Being top dog opens you up to more bashing.

I firmly believe that the PC, 360 and ps3, canablize each other. They are all going after the same audience. Nintenod has its fan base and goes after a totally differant audience.

If PC, 360, and ps3 gamers only had one option, that one option would sell more systems then the Wii.

the wii is "winning" SW, and is outselling the other consoles that its competing against. and no, i dont take SW seriously, i think you take it serioulsy. in SW sales dont equal the gens winner, games do. my stance is obviously sales, so i dont go by SW rules. your stance is games, so you DO go by SW rules. maybe you need a break until next-gen

poor sales of games? havent you heard the news lately about how many million sellers the wii has. so if people dont buy the wii for games, then how does it outsell the ps3? (im just talking about exclusives so as to not go against your whole "cannabolizing" idea)

regarding bolded statement: wow, what a convoluted question. how would you know that?

sales equal success. the system with the most sales is the most successful.

whats wrong with people liking something you dont? if you dont like it, too bad. sorry. they dont care what you buy so why do you care what they buy?

[QUOTE="donwoogie"]Read it. Respectively disagree (and not just because the website is quite obviously a Nintendo fan site). The Wii isn't that great on the third party side and the average score for Wii games is very low. Right now they are riding the wave of casual gamers who are trend seekers. Once the trends change and the current fads go out so the new ones come in, that'll be when the Wii starts to downturn. IMOdonwoogie

but the question is: if what you say is true, then WHEN will the trends change? cause if it takes a little while longer, it will be too late cause the wii will have such a large lead that it will be considered the "winner" (whatever that means) of this gen

remember how a couple of months after it came out some people were saying that its a fad and it cant possible be sold out for another few months? well now its been 1 1/2 years, how much more evidence do you need to prove that its not a fad

I'll be the first o admit, I didn't think the Wii would last this long. New research has shown that casual gamers are 36% more likely to change to a new product just for the sake of change, ie. trend orientation. The thing is, there are no other games consoles out there that are geared to casual gamers. Were there any competition, like lots of casual games being released a lot more on other consoles, then it'd be interesting, the only problem is, if this were to happen, every console would have a very bad proportion of terrible games, much like the Wii has, mind you the Wii ahs some outstanding games, but they have a hellofalotta absolutely terrible games..............

i agree. unfortunately with the removal of the "nintendo seal of quality" the shovelware has increased for nintendo. but its not like they are forcing you to buy those games. just buy and play what you like

Yeh, but most casual gamers are illinformed and so buy the shovelware and of course get bored of it but each person buying one is still increasing the sales so, buy marketing this shovelware, Nintendo is securing a very high short term profit but risking its longevity in the market once the fad wears off.

well, nintendo isnt marketing this shovelware. the publishers are.

Some fads live on like hideous monsters.

The supidity that is reality TV seems to have no end.

The Wii is like an ipod. Every yupi chump wants one in their living room. The Wii will never die. Except the doom of our time and avert your eyese from the horror to come.

Only too true. I hate the ipod sooooo much! My family has 3 and they got me one for my b'day............... I tell you, that piece of junk is so haphazardly designed! I have never seen a piece of technology so backwardly designed all in the name of complete control by apple..............

I would agree with you except for the fact that I don't know how much more through the roof they can get.

Last I checked a shipment of Wii's still sells out the day it comes in.

The that people are all over SSBB already own, or are still searching for one.

What I hate is how casual appeal is still used to justify superiority.

As a life ling gamer (D&D anyone?) popularity has never been an issue until recently.

I had it really rouph growing up. I was an athlete and spent a lot of time playing sports. I could not discuss gaming with the people I was around most the time, and the nerds that did game viewed me as a jock so I was not friends with them either.

Gaming was something that was so unpopular it was unwise to let a girl you were interested know that you even liked it, much less loved it.

I am more then used to the fact that what I find awsome will never be popular, and every time something I have liked goes popular it usually loses its appeal for me.

I loved Halo 1. Best luanch game for any system ever. I wsa hoping it would hit big, but be carefull what you ask for. I thought Halo 2 & 3 were the same old same old and not very good.

The fact the the Wii has so much broad appeal is great for our Nintendo loving gaming brothers, but to many have let it go to their heads.

how is this any different than the threads about how the ps3 will win, or its ps3's years, or the 360 will regain the lead?

they are all speculation.

funny how i didnt see you post that response on those threads. fanboy much?

Maybe because I didn't see those threads. And my point still stands. And it is the year of the PS3. Only fanboys are in denail about that. 360 is a joke to me because of two reasons. One, it is a very unreliable system, and second, I can get all the games it has that I want without buying a 360. If it was reliable and had games I wanted that I couldn't get on the PS3 or PC, then I would get one. I have no interest in a wii because it is last gen specs. I already have a PS2 and Gamecube, so I don't need a third last gen system.

In my opinion it seems that Sony and MS are making systems that "grow up" with gamers while Nintendo makes a console and games for the new generation of gamers. Most of us now look back at the classics and compare them to today's games and say "they don't make them like they used to." Well Nintendo is making those games that will be remembered by the next gamers. We just need Sega back so there will be some healthy competition for the casuals and new gamers entering.

Yeh, but the PS2 last gen had lots of good games, then some bad casual games tacked on. The Wii has more badly rated games than good games.
