Why would ANYONE buy a PSP Go?

It is almost as expensive as a 360 or PS3! In Denmark, it's even the same price as the PS3. It's also MORE expensive than the Wii (or at least when the price drop is enacted). I always liked Sony, for those who know me, but they really dropped the ball on this one. 250 dollars? No thanks, I mean, just drop Bluetooth or something! Anything to lower the price on that!

Yup i know its kinda expensive but im still buying it after trading in my psp slim.. i already have the fat psp.. pspGo looks cool :P.. i already have a pre-order on it and am getting it :)

I wont buy it but some people prefer digital distribution. I agree that its too expensive.

I think it's a terrible move by Sony and that it won't sell very well at all.

I would maybe invest in one if it was $150. Although I did sell my first one for a reason...

I'm always open minded to a hardware upgrade, but i'm really having trouble with this one.

If you already have a PSP of some sort and want to "upgrade," you have to rebuy all your games. If it's your first psp, then you can't avail your self of the used game market. You'd be stuck buying every game at full price. And if you're finished with a game, you can't sell it.

I guess it might be OK for collectors since they don't tend to sell their games ever, but they generally like to have hard copies of their games so they can display them on their shelves.

I don't really know who sony is targeting with this.

But seriously, I can't believe it. You can get a 360 Pro for the same price. You could also get a PS3 if you just added $50.

The thing is ridiculously bad value for money.The only people who will buy it is people that have more money than sense imo.

At this point Sony should really consider sticking a big fat Apple logo on it in the hope they might tap into the aforementioned market.

Yeah , I think everyone would like it to be cheaper .....but I think they left themselves some room to drop $50in a years time or less if they really need to to get more people later. Right now , it's about getting the early adopters and holiday gift givers and getting people hooked onDD.

The good thing about the Go is that it has helped the PSP in general get more game support , so the Go is a good thing for existing PSP owners who don't want a Go. There's nothing stupid about more developer support. ;)

Why would he be sarcastic? If you take out the price; the PSPGo is awesome. And really I think the problem is perception, most people thought PSPGo was going to replace the PSP3000 and were expecting it too cost less. Although PSPGo is expensive compared to the PSP3000 when you compare it to other similiar devices like Zune or Ipod it's right in line with the price. EmperorSupreme

If it was 200 bucks then I would be interested. I think it looks great and my psp is kinda beat down. I also like DD.

I complete agree with this. If the price was the same or close to the PSP 3000, I could see it really selling. There seems to be a trend towards all digital download, so a device like this seems to b the direction of handheld gaming. I can see how it would be nice to just have a memory card and not have to worry about UMDs (though I personally prefer hard copies). Sony has a serious problem with launch prices.

Sony obviously forgot about the excitement surrounding the announcement of PS3's 500 dollar pricetag. Seriously, the hardware can't possibly warrant a 250 dollar pricetag. Not even if they packed in 3 games AND a way to convert all your UMDs to images playable on the Go.

I like it and when the price comes down I'll buy it. I don't think it will fail it may not break alot of sales records but it has room for expansion so who knows what the future holds. :)

They will slash the price to make it seem like another OMG!!! price cut. thats thier real plan.

I remember buying a PSP 4 and a half years ago for $250.

This Go is such a rip. It doesn't even have improvements over the old PSP, but instead downgrades. Smaller screen, not compatible with existing accessories (Unless you buy a brand NEW accessory for around $20 :D ), and the battery life is still 5 hours? What a great deal! Not to mention it seems like it'll cramp your hands even more with the new layout.

Seriously, this is the worst piece of video game technology to come out since......virtual boy? I donno, but anyone buying the Go is getting ripped off.

I want one. I love digital distribution and getting near wii calibur graphics on a slick little portable without having to carry around games seems awesome to me. I wish it was $50 dollars cheaper.

They were not thinking about Wii, 360, or PS3 when they decideded on a price. They priced it halfway between the price of the 8gb &32gb iPod Touch's. Which kinda works, since the GO is 16gb.

But then again, the Touch and Zune HD do have touchscreens. Thats the only place Sony messed up to me. Couldnt believe they didn't do that.

The price is what is stopping me from picking one up.

Might not be as "music friendly" as an IPOD, but lets all be honest... It's more towards "game friendly" crowds who might wanna game more portable.

Is the price worth it?? Just depends on the person if he thinks it worth it to him. I mean **** I bought the PlayStation 3 when it FIRST CAME OUT everyone knows the price back when i'm sure...

You can't really compare a portable to a console. Because they are really two different animals. It's like comparing a notebook to a PC, you are going to get a lot more for the money with a PC. EmperorSupreme

The difference is due to work, school, etc. people need laptops, so their price can be justified. Not to mention a laptap can still basically do everything a desktop can.

A portable system that's inferior to a console and can do less yet costs more? Yeah, I'd say that's some deserved criticism.

I may sound like an idiot but I will be buying the PSPGo...My original PSP 1000 will be used for all my UMD games like Dissidia, Crisis Core, Daxter and GOW, and I will buy the PSPGo and use its 16GB memory for PSOne Classics, downloadable games and music

Your not the only one dude. I'm using it for Downloadable games only, which my PSP-3000 will be for UMD available games. I'll mostly be using it as a Ipod which I'll put all my music on (hence more portable) and pictures. Probably be getting one this Christmas as a gift.
