I own the console...sending me youtube videos concerning it is a waste of your time and my own. I can confirm the X1 is no more media focused than any other console. What it does enable you to do is switch seamlessly between different media types giving you an unparalleled level of control over the way you game/interact with your television. Trying to belittle a console because it offers additional features is just a stupid move.

I thought switching between Gaming, television and netflix would be a cool feature but not something I used because "picking up the remote isnt that difficult". Once you start using the voice commands and seeing how quickly the X1 switches between functions you start to realise how silly that sounds. Its fantastic.

Making substitutions and changing tactics in Fifa without pausing the game creates a nice level of immersion. Dropping weapons and attracting zombies in dead rising with voice commands is a sweet touch. I knwo your a Sony fanboy so responding to you directly is futile but having spend several weeks with the console I can honestly say only one of us is missing out on a really interesting and exciting way to play games and interact with media....it isnt me. Sony sold 1 million in 1 day to,but unlike MS sony sold 1 million in NA alone while MS sold 1 million in 13 countries,so how is MS been affected by having smaller number of countries when the PS4 launched first in US and Canada,while MS launched in US Canada and 11 other countries and still they sold the same.

You stated the X1 was a media device. I stated that its a multi functional device with multiple ways to interact with media. It works very very well.

I pull no punches when it comes to my dislike of the PS4, thats because its just as dull and uninspiring as the PS3 was when that was released. The PS4 is a decent gaming machine but there is absolutely nothing exciting or innovative about it. You can bash voice commands and motion gestures as much as you like but the fact remains the X1 is a far more interesting product with far more room to evolve.

Im not hiding anywhere, behind any review. DR3 being at 78% doesnt mean a thing to me. Im playing it and its one of the most fun games I have played. Not because its a technical marvel, its just an awful lot of fun. Resogun is a great game but comparing indie titles with small scope to full blown launch titles is silly. Dont tell me reviewers use exactly the same criteria to judge Resogun and DR3. All you can comment on is statistics and sales figures all of which is meaningless to people who already own these consoles. The X1 is by far the superior console thus far. At present it has a better set of games and its an incredibly competent multimedia device. You keep saying both MS and Sony failed to deliver but the truth is Xboxers have more than their fair share of titles to play.

Gaming is all about the subtle differences that make the user feel integrated and part of the experience, this is were the X1 really has the PS4 trumped. Today I walked into my living room, was recognised and greeted by my Xbox, I opened netflix with my voice, browsed the selection of British comedy with hand gestures. Then when my wife went to the shop I switched seamlessly to a game of FIFA I started hours previously. Then after enjoying one of the songs I heard on FIFA I switched seamlessly again to the internet browser to find some more tracks to purchase at a later date. Whilst playing fifa I could change tactics and make substitutions with my voice...no need to enter the menu's whatsoever during the vast majority of games which is great particularly with more than one player in the room.

These, whilst not ground breaking revelations are all wonderful subtle differences that make the X1 an absolute pleasure to use, and this is just the beginning. So yeah....stick your statistics. Im a gamer, not a analyst.

Is that why PSN was down for like 2 days almost on the ps4 (Christmas day- 26 Dec) while it worked fine on ps3. Its obvious Sony's servers were seeing a large amount of traffic (probably new accounts and new people trying to log on). More people obviously got a ps4 under thier tree than xbox one. Only delusional lems believe that Sony only has 100,000 unit lead on MS.....

Firstly I never said I liked Ryse, I actually implied the opposite but stated that "some people" like it. Please read my points properly. I also never said Indie titles dont have their place, I said they are reviewed on a different set of criteria due to their smaller scope. Angry birds is great but how based on a % score can you compare it to GTA or any full retail games. The same can be said for Minecraft. on the 360. Its a great game in its own right but should it be reviewed by the same set of criteria as an open world sandbox when it is never going to experience frame rate issues, nor is it pushing the consoles graphical capabilities.

Im not bashing indie titles, but should they be counted as a solid reason to purchase one console over another??? I dont think so.

Many of the XBox One reviews only have 4-5 reviews, while the PS4 has like 20-30 reviews. They need to update their site with the rest of XBox One reviews. The scores on both Gamerankings and Metacrit aren't accurate yet, because all the reviews haven't been posted on the site yet. The sales aren't critical at launch. The Ps2 didn't sell as much as the PS4 or XB1 at launch, yet it still went on to sell over 150 million units. I don't think either the PS4 or XB1 will sell like the Wii or PS2. Sales are going to drop for both systems come Feb & March, unlike the Wii, which was sold out for a complete year.

Gaming is bigger than it has ever been and continues to grow, records are being broken left and right. The market share for Sony and MS will grow while Nintendo's decreases to balance things. The market for console games is totally different from the tablet and phone market. People that like the console experience aren't gonna drop consoles to go play on their tablets and vice versa.

Who said anything about tablets? Console sales always drop after the holidays. If you knew anything about the game console trends and launches, you would know this. The Wii is the only console that was an exception. It's the only game console in the history of gaming to be consistently sold out for a full year. Sony will eventually catch up to the PS4 demand and it won't take a year, I can guarantee you that. Mainly the reason why Wii was sold out for so long was because there were millions of casual gamers interested in it. PS4 is more for hardcore gamers and there are a lot less of them. That's why demand will drop off on both systems sometime Feb or March. Sales will start to pick up again as Fall approaches. This is how it works.

It make me laugh when people say things like that,if like the Wii was the highest selling console in history and not the PS2,the wii hasn't even beat the PS1 numbers yet,and it is far from the PS2,i don't think the demand will lower by those months all the contrary on early next year the unit launch on Japan so there would be even more demand for it.

Lems have to keep their hopes alive.

More than price, it still has the mainstream perception that it is an all-media, online-connected, digital console. And while it reversed many of its policies (a lot of casual consumers are still unaware that it did), it's main strengths still lie in being a multi-media, online, digital console. When you go through its OS and play the games, you can just tell thats where its strengths are, and thats just the way it was designed. And it seems that more people just want a simple game console.

I personally like the convenience of not having to cycle through so many different controllers, and not having to cycle through inputs, only depending on One through my Xbox One, but the sales numbers are out, and the majority of Americans don't mind having to do those things. The PS4 does fewer things, but that can also be perceived as being simpler (easier to operate/understand), and the fewer things it does do, it does them better.

But let's wait till Titanfall comes out, that should move some units.

Too much focus on media for US if I may add. Not a lot of use for other countries.

It does have mandatory online in the way that it has a mandatory day one patch. PS4 and Wii U have patches these days as well, but I don't know if they are mandatory.
