Why's everybody here trying so hard to CONVINCE eachother that the Wii wont win?

I see so many posts about how the Wii's graphics are crap, it's a fad, in the long run I wont win... but to me it sounds more like the bitter tears of fanboys (that taste so sweet to a sheep like me) who cant come to terms with the fact the the Wii is shaming their favorite console.

Is it that you think the Wii wont win?

Or is it that you just dont want it to? ;)

Anybody who's living in reality knows that the Wii is dominating MS and Sony right now... and the fact that it's doing so at a time when all three major players are on the market is strong evidence that this trend is likely to continue throughout the entire generation. The Wii is simply reaching a much larger demographic, one that does not particularly care about HD or the graphics that you mistakingly think is going to win the 360 or the PS3 the war in the end.

And for people bashing Wii's lineup and 3rd party support, one thing is certain, both are only going to get much better for the Wii as this generation goes on,

and that means things are only going to get much worse for 360 and PS3 fanboys :(

Most people I know are playing games on their wii's. Odd how diffrent my community around me is from the average fanboy's community.

I'm a sheep, I'm in it for the Nintendo first party party games.... it's just an added bonus for me to know most of your big third party games will be coming to the Wii as developers go where the money is, and that the 360 and PS3 will be living in Nintendo's shadow all generation long as Nintendo continues to dominate them, which will undoubtedly lead to more bitter posts like yours, in which you insulted me personally and gave me grounds to report you. more points for me. enjoy your ban :)

Actually... So far with every online nintendo game, online has been a fun feature with no staying power.

Why?

Because of glitchers, spammers, and cheapasses.

Seriously. In every competitive game on Wifi right now, its almost impossible to get a fair, honorable match.  

It is very doubtful that the Wii is going to win in AAA and AA games so why do we really care if it becomes the casual system of choice ?

He never said Wii isn't here for the Long Run nor has he even implied anything about Wii not being in the Long Run.

You wouldn't grant victory to Sony or Microsoft, so why should they show you mercy? You can't make a conclusion only 6-7 months in. The big games haven't even come out.

And if you ask me, the games in the end will fuel sales. (always have, always will) I see two strong sellers on Wii, but I see a ton more stronger sellers on PS3/Xbox 360. So looks like you are celebrating way too early Sheep.

[and if you're wondering what Wii games I mean, it's Super Mario Galaxy and SSB. Metroid Corruption i dont think will sell well (when has it ever?)] When I mean sell well I mean over 5 million copies like Gears of War, enough to almost be a system seller. I think after Twilight Princess only SMG and SSB are potential system sellers. The rest are rather emaciated or tepid third-party games and worn out tack-ons, hardly a threat to Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell 5, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Alan Wake, GTA4, RE5, DMC4, Star Wars Unleashed, etc...

And for people bashing Wii's lineup and 3rd party support, one thing is certain, both are only going to get much better for the Wii as this generation goes on,

and that means things are only going to get much worse for 360 and PS3 fanboys :(

Since when have sales determined quality? Or have Nintendo fanboys completely forgotten how desperately they argued that "sales don't matter" for the past two generations? The new battlecry is "graphics don't matter" - but if we combine all the fanboy rhetoric from Nintendo fans over the years, their bottom line is "nothing matters'... as long as it comes from Nintendo, you'll defend it, right?

The Wii is a terrible thing. No, I don't want it to win, I want to believe people are *smarter* than that. If they're not (I know they aren't) well, that's reality. If you derive pleasure from the torturted screams of hardcore gamers, as they watch their hobby handed over to essentially the same group of people who think "Madden" is a great example of what videogames should be, well, have fun with it, I'm glad you're happy.

Me? I'll be retreating to PC gaming until this whole ugly "Wii" business passes. Frankly, the thing that hurts me the most is losing my respect for Nintendo fans. There are still a few Nintendo fans on GS whom I respect and value, but since the Wii has released I've seen too many "HD-haters" come out of the woodwork, who seem more intent on seeing the downfall of everything that used to represent gaming, rather than being excited by the Wii offering something different.

 To tell you the truth, I'm more sheep than I am a lemming, but I have yet to make the "nothing matters" cry. I think Nintendo is a great company that seeked an alternative, as most companies would do, in face of losing their foothold in the console wars. If the Wii wins the console war (which I hope it does), what does that do to the market? The affect of the Wii won't entirely be felt until the next generation, which Nintendo themselves believe is going to be the true "rise of the HD era." I do believe that the next-generation will be run a little differently, but graphics will still remain a big part of the console wars, as well as gameplay. Perhaps an intergration of the two would settle fanboyism.

I'm not a Wii hater. I will buy a one after they release MP3:C, and this will make me a sheep too. But I know what I can expect of it. For me it's not THE NEXT GEN console like many people claim, and I'm sick of hearing how it won the next gen war when it's competing with the PS2. Hell, even Miyamoto said that they are not competing with the PS3/X360, but it looks like some sheeps cannot let go of it.

I'm not a Wii hater. I will buy a one after they release MP3:C, and this will make me a sheep too. But I know what I can expect of it. The wii doesn´t have hardware for bigger and better games, don´t think cause it´s selling you´ll see gta4 on it, even if you do it won´t be the same game, the wii is a pretty sad little console, but hey if you like it fine I have no problem with that, but for me wii is trash.Eddie-Vedder

I don't want the Wii to come out on top.

I like to have the best technology.  I like playing games that wow people when they see them.

I want epic stories, orchestra scores, voice acting and online networks to play against strangers.

Nintendo has never given me these things and this generaltion doesn't seem to be any different.

I love Mario, and as soon as Galaxy and MP3 come out, I'll repurchase a Wii, but I honestly few that if the Wii blows the competition away gaming as an artform is going to be set back in a major way.
