Was watching this video and I couldnt agree more. The Order definitely had a questionable design philosophy but it was still entertaining while it lasted imo. It's world, characters and vibe had a lot of potential and if Knack had a sequel then Sony should give The Order a second chance also. Just give to it more freedom in its gameplay and level design and voila, you'll have a winning game.

So, wich games you think deserve a second chance?

Kotor 2, it's been patched up with alot of lost content added. Aside from a shitty overlong opening section it's way better than kotor.

True Crime.

This franchise was the best rival that GTA ever had.

i'd say splinter cell. hopefully blacklist's poor sales combined with the decline in critical acclaim since chaos theory are enough to make ubisoft see they've made some poor design choices for the series and take it back to its roots, but not so bad they abandon the franchise entirely.

they can look to mgsv for inspiration as to how good stealth mechanics can / should be in military based games (no, you can't make it open world though ubisoft) and to dishonored 2 for how thoughtful level design can really enhance a stealth experience.

bring back michael ironside, make a spiritual successor to chaos theory and hey presto, you have a potentially great game on your hands which critics and fans will love and a reinvigorated series ready to rinse the hell out of like every other franchise they have

based on gamespot score. Prey.

its 6/10 is just a joke. when boring snoozefest like MGS5 or mediocre games like witcher 3 can get 10 but Prey an incredible game got just a 6.

Binary Domain. It's a fun game, with a Blade Runneresque story. It just needed a little more polish.

because the PS4 always docks game points for not being movie games. That's why no serious gamer uses one as their primary console.

Do you remember the **** face at IGN that gave the game a 4/10 and they had to change it? What a clown. And I agree, MGS V was extremely mediocre and I'm astonished that anyone was able to give that game better than 7/10.

Stop trolling Monsier. Prey was an excellent game. A nice mix of sci-fi and Half Life. A spiritual successor to System Shock. Steam reviews are not wrong.

Homefront revolution. I really liked that game. Yes it had a heap amount of bugs, I even had to start my game over again but when I came back it was all fixed. It had a great story, the gameplay was awesome, I loved the gun customization on the fly. It had so much potential but due to the bad bugs it did terribly.

It depends if you are referring to review scores or community responses. But right now, the big example I can think of is Metal Gear Survive. I haven't finished it yet, but I went in with an open mind...and although it's certainly not a 10/10, it's a hell of a lot better than you'd expect given the outrageously negative reaction to it. I am left wondering if the game will eventually received a fairer reception later down the track - it might take time for the generalised angst to settle down.

I played The Order on release, it was what I expected at the time. A graphics demo with super short and super linear gameplay. It was ok, but other than the console graphics at the time, wasn't anything special at all.

Prey was quite good, although it's funny that ghosts always tries to knock other games just because his favorite games got bad review scores. Personally, I would have given Prey an 8. Solid title.

For all it's faults, I think Quantum Break deserves a second chance. The game had issues indeed, but I did find myself enjoying it in the end and would gladly like to see Remedy take another shot at it.

The big problem with the Order was its price, it simply wasn't worth the 60 dollars they asked for it.

The game was very short, with too many cutscenes and too many QTE's on top of that.

I on the other hand bought the game last year for very cheap, and I found an excellent game with some really fun gameplay and an interesting world.

Same with Ryse really: a lot of people didn't like that game. I enjoyed it.

Both Ryse and The Order should get a sequel, to improve on what was good in these games. And to get rid of what was bad.

Indeed, but I also played it through Windows 10 when it was free for those who purchase Xbox One version and it turn out alright but it ain't optimize well.

Agreed. I think The Order is a good candidate for being a rescued franchise. It ended on such a cliffhanger and really seemed like it was about to get good when the credits started rolling.

I think it was Peter Moore that said, "There are no bad games, only bad prices." If the Order was $20 at launch people wouldn't have griped nearly so much.

Edit: I finally started to give Alien Isolation a real try, since I've been on an Alien kick lately, and it's fan-f'n-tastic. I doubt it'll happen since I don't think it sold so well, but Isolation is just top quality from head to toe. It'd be great to se a sequel. They could even shoehorn in multiplayer ala Friday the 13th and load it with MT's. C'mon Sega, do it!

I think Ready at Dawn wants to do another The Order, but it doesn't seem likely that Sony is up for it.

Just give to it more freedom in its gameplay and level design and voila, you'll have a winning game.

So, wich games you think deserve a second chance?

LOL no, there are no redeeming qualities in the Order apart from the setting which they didn't take any advantage of. From shooting mechanics, to action, to story to characters everything is so damn shitty in Order. Nothing is the Order made sense, I mean the main character while being a knight kills everyone guards, soldiers, rebels with no context. Funny thing the characters are all cliche as well.

I believe these guys sums up perfectly all I want to say:

The only way to somehow leverage it is if you reboot the series.

No, Order cannot and should not be continued. It's storyline and characters make no sense at all. If anything it should be rebooted with the same settings. Ryse on the other hand can work where they left it, it's story while cliche was still coherent.

I remember current gen remaster collections like Bioshock and Batman Arkham games getting bad reputations for lazy cash-ins, but I replayed these last couple months and they are really great still.
