if you like games than get a 360, if you like Sony than get a PS3.

that wasn't nice, i'm getting sucked into the SW bull... look at the games for each system and get whichever one you think is your best choice.

Judging by the topic title... I'd reccomend a horrible DS. It has many TRAINING games for you, maybe they even have a spelling trainer for you!

360 has pretty much pumped out all the titles it needs too, i belive that in the long run sony will treat you better with games and the blu-ray movie capability, and the hardware failure rate is much less too as the 360, i see alot of threads on the RROD and im still waiting for the day my 360 gets it, i've been quite lucky though seein i've had it since launch

I was going to say the same thing, ha.

But to the TC if you want the best and biggest library of games, get the 360.

360 has better mutiplats generally, and more high quality exclusives. PS3 is OK at present, but not as solid of a gaming platform honestly. That could change next year, but now it's not up to 360 standards. The Wii is fun if you like having friends over who don't play games but love to drink, but really I wouldn't consider the Wii a primary platform.

If you want a solid game library from the get go I would go with a 360.

If you want a multimedia hub with Blu-Ray capability and don't mind waiting till early next year for some killer app's go with PS3.

The PS3's hardware has been reliable since the get go, Microsoft just recently started implementing the Falcon motherboards in their systems which should make the RROD a little less likely.

Based on the games you like I'd suggest PS3. Personally I think you'd be sad being a Playstation fan going with Xbox. You are going to miss out on a lot of the classic franchises. My reasons to go PS3. PS3 has a broader variety of games now, has a far better 2008 lineup, has better graphics than X360, PS3 is reliable, PS3 is less expensive, PS3 allows you to do more than gaming, PS3 has a friendlier community, PS3 will keep getting better and better while X360 peaked with Gears, PS3 you can upgrade with non-proprietary parts. About online, PS3 online supports games with more players, PS3 online now supports MODS, and a good majority of PS3 games are less laggy than the X360 version, the PS3 also has Home coming soon.
