Wii can still get RE5

"Q: We gave Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition an excellent score. Why isn't Capcom bringing RE5 to Wii? As we seen with that game, impressive graphics can be done on that platform as well.

A: Decisions surrounding the RE5 project were taken a long time ago and they needed to choose quickly on which platform they wanted to develop it. They haven't decided if they will port RE5 on Wii yet. So in a way this game (RE4:Wii) will help us to test the market, to see if developing this genre on this platform is interesting. More on RE:UC : They're still looking into how they could use other Wiimote functionalities or the Nunchuck in the game. It will be more than just a simple light-gun game,

Masachika Kawata has expressed interest in remaking other Resident evil titles (of the first three) for the Wii using the RE4 engine.

If this turns out to be true, and Wii gets RE1,RE2, RE3remade with the RE4 engine and RE5 on Wii then it's going to KICK ASS. Also there will be more info on RE5 very soon...

Anyway, I do agree that Capcom definitely is testing the market with Wii to see if it would be a smart move to put either more RE games on the platform or possibly put RE5 on the Wii. RE5 is one of those games that while it technically can't be ported, it can still be done on the Wii, considering Capcom has so much experience with Nintendo hardware... they can definitely make it still look good regardless of the downgrade.

Besides, I just bought RE4: Wii Edition, and the controls work pretty well.

in all seriousness though, id guess if re4: wii and re: uc sell well enough, you might see a proper spinoff at one stage in the consoles lifecycle.

If RE1-3 get remade with the RE4 engine... I would definitely take RE:UC and REmake 1-3 over RE5. We still know nothing about RE5 so being hyped about it is kind of useless.

People just DON'T get it do they? RE5 is being developed to look amazing. Capcom even said the game is not due out until Q4 2008 at the EARLIEST. They want to make the game look super realistic because it's a HORROR game and horror games need VISUAL representation to stand out.

Look at REremake on GC for it's time it had amazing graphics even now they look great and it made the game far more scarier than original. RE5 will push "fightning" and "scary" to a whole new level. RE4 on GC raised the bar in console visuals, the game looked amazingly good and still does(although not as much). RE5 will raise the bar once again. If you think you've seen the best looking games on 360/PS3 now, you are clearly in for a surprise, these consoles will dish out games that look even better 2-3 years time.

I definately hope they do this. I played RE4 before trying RE 2 and 3, and it was just impossible. Once you do the RE4 engine, you can't go back.

If Capcom released a bundle of RE 1, 2, and 3 for $50, I'd be all over that.

Nintendo, on the other hand, goes out of their way to make sure everything on the Wii is non-threatening for those who don't play games all the time. You've got friend codes to protect the kiddies, a simple and intuitive controller for the older folks, and games like Wii sports that families can play together. I mean thats great and all for the non-gamers and whatever, but what does that do for me?
