[QUOTE="ogvampire"][QUOTE="heretrix"]Cheerleading about sales for a Multibillion dollar company is pretty lame. Second only to graphics whores. And depending on what day of the week it is, it's worse.heretrix
yeah, cause cheerleading for the opinion on a game from a game reviewer is so much better
What ever rocks your socks, chum.same to you, buddy.
No More Heroes is mediocre, and was lost in the deluge of crap games. It takes more than one semi decent core game every few months to satisfy a core gamer.CronoSqualllol no AAA deal with it

no need to downplay games just to prove your point. your opinion may not be shared by other core gamers

I'm not your buddy, Pal.dammit. I can't resist doing that.
[QUOTE="flazzle"]Games are coming, but not in the same class as the hits of Gears, MGS, etc. Just a different class.
CronoSquall
Different class meaning of course, inferior.
No it does not. Don't put word in my mouth to reflect your narrow, biased opinion.
Different means different. Bloom Blox is different. NHM is different. SPM is different. MP3 is different. Mad World is different. Trauma Center, Day of Crisis, AC, etc.
So keep your condolences, nobody needs them.
I agree in a way but not 100%.
If PS3 had a 199$ tag price , you think Wii wont be threatened?
Also , who cares about sales when in reality the winners , are again Ps3 and 360 (game wise)?? They got ALL popular/famous/awesome franchises from all 3rd party developers. So to me, IS NOT that PS3 and X360 arent threating Wii but Wii ISNT threating PS3-X360 for losing any GREAT exclusive or even Multi game. Why to bother with sales when there are great games?

Scores be damned, it was a poor game. (Oblivion is technically "AAA" as well, and I loathe it, and what it did to the Elder Scrolls series) It was after that particular game that I finally gave up and sold my Wii.

im not your pal, um.... amigo? :P
I am a core gamer and personally, I could give less than a damn about Nintendo's sales figures since the Wii has continually failed to impress me. 2007 was a good year for the Wii, but 2008 (SSBB, which I haven't picked up in weeks, aside) has been one hell of a disappointment.The_Game21x
Agreed this year has been weak, usually Nintendo have all their big titles at the end of the year anyway but with only AC announced so far :?.
[QUOTE="ogvampire"][QUOTE="johnnyv2003"]*sigh*...what has happened to the video game world....im about to give up on the entire gaming population after reading this post and the reactions to it....it's like we've become the uptight movie critics that only appreciate indie films that no cares aboutShadow_of_Kirby
lol! i have always had this exact same comparison in my head whenever i think of the way hardcore gamers feel about casual games.
I'm sure they haven't always felt so strongly about it, but the constant waves of shovelware (not to mention grudges against Nintendo) have driven them to, "You know what? Screw it. Casual games just suck now."
well the thing is, crappy games have been a part of gaming for along time.....before the Nintendo Wii even.....somehow gamers have gotten it into their thick skulls that there's this huge gap between 'hardcore and casual'....before this whole trend it was 'fun game' or 'piece of crap game'....now a days even if a game is fun, if it isn't deemed "hardcore" by the so called "hardcore" crowd that somehow appointed themselves that title in the past 2 years it isn't worth the time.....so in the end, crappy games will always be there, especially on the more popular of the consoles but that doesn't mean it's the norm for the entire console

While it is true that crap games have always been around, and the best selling system typically had the highest concentration of them, the best selling system also tended to become the best seller in the first place because it had and maintained the highest concentration of great games. This was the case of every generation up until this one. The Wii is leading in sales, despite having less quality games than competing systems. So now the marketing leading console has the most crap games, and the least great games, which has thrown the careful balancing act out of whack.
Agreed - they are winning, by hardware sales, because of whom the system is targeted at: its sad that Wii fans continually tout the Wii sales which is something even in which the OP has done. Oh well, welcome to the New Generation I guess.Stevo_the_gamerI rarely see sheep tout the Wii's sales. I seem more fanboys complaining about them doing it though

i could have sworn that lemmings and cows love to tout sales as well.
what with the 'ps3 outselling 360' and 'mgs4, halo3 system seller' threads, it should be obvious that sales are talked about for consoles... not so much for PC.
actually, when one of nvidia's super graphics card sales numbers were released, there was a thread about it here. looks like PC folks talk about sales as well...

that's a matter of opinion though....i put enough time and finances into my video gaming time to call myself a hardcore gamer, and i've probably spent more time playing the games on my Wii than any of my other consoles and my PC...i'm not trying to say that the 360 or PS3 hasn't released some great games, but in terms of quantity I think the Wii has outdone both systems so far for quality titles....you could say that these quality titles aren't for everyone though
When PC fans talk about sales - they're counter arguments to the console fanboys which spout BS such as "Higher End Cards" don't sell. Yes, 360 and PS3 fans might tout software sales, or even use hardware sales to compare the systems and their future. However, I do not see them using the sales to tout their system as the winner and best system this generation.i could have sworn that lemmings and cows love to tout sales as well.

do you forget that the sheep wii sales threads are counter arguments to those threads before the Wii launched about how it would fail and it would sell less than the GC?
also, i dont remember those wii sales thread trying to say that its the system 'winner', except those people that didnt know what the 'winner' consists of...

Saying that Wii dont have HC games is bollock and you know it,its just used to make Wii look like "poor platform" while actualy it pwns
Just look at WoW for PC. It have cartoonish graphics - but its still one of most hardcore and in same one of most user - friendly games
They may have won the war, but since I don't care about their sales, they failed to impress me.SpruceCaboose
yeap! that's the guy!

I sorta tout sales, Wii has 10 'core' million sellers.. Can't play sales though, so its not really a big deal.
[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"][QUOTE="nervmeister"]This is why I think Little Big Planet is gonna move quite a bit of hardware for Sony. Casuals will eat it up like crack cocaine.
And Spore is likely to do the same.
Paleo_Orca
I think casuals would be sorely disappointed with both titles.
I hate to say it but... I agree...
Casuals don't seem to be that creative or take the time to be creative :/
Legos?
Nintendo better watch out. Miyamoto has expressed dissatisfaction with just how casualized Nintendo has become. He misses traditional Zelda and Mario games, and if they don't get their act together in several years they may lose one of their greatest minds.
I personally would love to see the Metroid Series brought over to Sony, as long as RS still does the developing.
fiscope
was that before or after he was playing a wii mote (pretending to be a flute) last E3?
