There is nothing wrong with using technology to replace something old-fashioned. People change and lifestyles change due to technology. I would think a simulation of some sort or a challenge is a hell of alot more fun and not as boring as people are accustomed to when they jog outside.

You wont get "fit" with wii fit. It has almost no cardio exercise in it, other than gentle steps which wont get your heartrate up for long enough to burn fat, which is what most people need to stay healthy. Its more of a muscle toner if you will, but I cant see getting any big results from it.

DDR and Wii fit seem to be quite different. Wii fit is more like the junk you see sold by those TV commercials where you see some celebirty saying how great and "easy" it is to get fit. When Nintendo is selling this stuff it's more appealing for some reason.

I've heard people say that Opera joke so many times I'm sure by now Ninty must have to. SO I think thats exactly what they will do. It's going to happen just like people have said. Scary I know.

I think Wii Fit is a good idea because it will actually train you to do exercises correctly, my ex-gf was very good at yoga and explained to me how doing them in the right way and in the right order was very important. Just having an interactiveprogram that explains how to do those postions or movements correctly would be very useful indeed.

Personally I'm going to get it.It looks fun too.Once you add in the extra games that will be made for the wiiboard it's a no brainer.

Yeah but going to a gym actually works. By the way, buying a membership doesn't have to cost that much.

I think some people here show too much hate or negativity toward WiiFit, like "if you really want to be in shape or build your body, do some REAL exercise or hit the gym", along those lines. Do people honestly think everyone buying WiiFit wants to be in top shape or become body builder? I believe many people buying WiiFit or plan to buy it think it's interesting to play some mini-games or to interact with the program, while doing some exercise or body movement. Sounds more healthy to play some WiiFit than sitting on the couch watching TV or play online games all day when you are home.

If some people actually enjoy WiiFit, think it's fun and become more aware of health issues, what's so bad about that? Saying WiiFit is useless and real exercise is better, as if people who bought WiiFit will never do real exercise, is like saying people who spend a lot of time playing video games must be out of shape and lazy. Making false claims.

I know what some people are thinking, WiiFit is too expensive for what it is, only some pretty looking shooters and sports games are worth the price. Nintendo is making too much money already, it's evil for them to create another hit among casuals. Another game aiming at the casual? Oh noes, DEATH OF GAMING !!!!

Since people can get over with Nintendogs and Brain Age, I think they will soon get over with WiiFit. Afterall, it's just another game (or whatever you want to call it), it's just gonna be another one of Nintendo's recent hits, no big deal. ;)

Wiifit does nothing for you. Lifting, Swimming, and running aren't meant to be entertaining...they're meant to keep you in shape. I suppose if you want to blow $80 just to step up on a platform over and over again go for it. You can get the same amount of exercise of the Wiifit by doing 10 pushups and stepping up on a stair for 10 minutes though. Not exactly helping.

You dont even know what the game is about, you actually do push-ups, and i've heard there is some cardio.

Most of you guys don't know, but going to a gym doesn't help losing weight, it helps building and toning your mucles. Going to a gym for cardio or arobic excersive IMO is a waste of time.
