Honestly, I'm looking forward to Factor 5's contribution. Aren't they working on a joint project with Nintendo?Tylendal
From what i've read from other people! Theyre producing a game. I dont know if its a joint development though.
Honestly, I'm looking forward to Factor 5's contribution. Aren't they working on a joint project with Nintendo?TylendalThats a rumour but they did say their Wii Engine can do everything their PS3 Engine can do and More so it will defenately look great but it would still be at a lower Resolution but Rebel Strike and Rougue Leader still look Fantastic even by Today's standards compared to 360 and PS3 games IMO.
Also that Rumour about them making a Joint Project with Nintendo is a Rumoured Kid Icarus that has Factor 5 working on Graphics and Nintendo Handling the Gameplay But Factor 5 never answered any of those Rumours so they are still Rumours.
We first heard about Factor 5's Wii project about a month ago, and with DICE 08 comes some new details about the title. IGN spoke with Factor 5 president Julian Eggebrecht about the game, and learned a bit about the impressive engine being built, which Eggebrecht claims rivals their work on the PS3.
According to Eggebrecht, the engine for the Wii title is nearly complete and, according to him, "does everything the PS3 did, and then some, quite frankly." The title is described as being technically impressive, pushing the Wii hardware further than most will expect it to go.
Though further details are scant, Eggebrecht does emphasize Factor 5's focus on the controls, specifically the Wii remote's ability to act as a pointing device. We'll have to wait and see how the Wii title will manage to outdo Factor 5's PS3 development (insert snide remark about Lair's abysmal critical reception).

What gets me curious is when he says "does everything the PS3 did, and then some, quite frankly." I wonder what he means by more than the PS3 can do? Hmmm the mind wonders.
if they can manage to pull it off then i guess....
TFHBO!
(the fanboys have been owned)
hopefuly if they can manage it then we'll see more multiplats making there way to wii
These games might stand head and shoulders over the other Wii games, but there is no way in this world it can match 360 and PS3 games. Well, I mean, maybe launch games or crappy ports... but not a seasoned PS3/360 game. No way.
I'm just asking to be sigged here by some Nintendo fanboy, arent I?

I think it means every Effect that PS3 Engine did there Wii Engine can do and more it will just be lower resolution and less Pixels but it can still do all that stuff. Also to the guy below the one I quoted Wii can actually play DVDs it just doesn't have DVD Playback since Wii discs are the same size as 360 games.
lets face it, the wii's hardwear is pathetic, can't even play DvDs. so how the hell could it have 360 level visuals? i must admit that wiis and hdtv's dont mix, after playing at 720p the low res REALY shows, trhis has gota be a bogus statment. thegoldenpoo
WTF has playing DVD Movies go to do with games ? All a DVD player is on a Console is a gimmick, A novelty item! i play Games on my Console and not DVD movies!
PS: Look at what a Wii game is and you will be suprised to knows its a Digital Versatile Disc! You know those little, round, Plastic items which are flat which you said the Wii cannot read!

What the hell does that even mean? And I can't wait for this to be applied to another Wii game. Metroid Prime 4, maybe?

Can't wait till they release some screenshots on what this baby can do

It doesn't have to waste power dealing with higher resolutions and can actually concentrate on better technical graphics. Problem is most devs haven't put forth the effort. Look at Rogue Leader on the Gamecube, it looks like a decent looking 360 game.

Imagine what a Wii version would look like.
I can see something like this giving people high expectations, essentially over exaggerating what the Wii can do. While games like Mario Galaxy look great with it's artistic side, I haven't seen anything surpass it. Which brings me to..
If you don't have expectations, you can't be disappointed. I say wait and see. I'm sure there are some developers out there wanting to push the envelope on the Wii. I think there's more to developing for the controls that have caused graphics to take a back seat. Just my 2 cents.
I don't remember High Voltage saying PS3/360 visuals.dotWithShoes
They didn't yet stupid gaming websites decide to make up their own facts these days. The text that says about PS3 visuals is by the website, what the actually said is the engine is capable of doing things the PS3 and 360 does, which is exactly what Factor 5 said. Sure not as well, but pulling off similar lighting effects is awesome in itself.
thats because you havent seen developers actually take advantage of the wii's hardware. what you have been seeing is games that mostly been under development for a short time coming out on the wii, with very minimum hit on the wii's hardware. mario galaxy and metroid prime 3 are examples of games that took advantage of the wii's hardware, but very slight advantage. theres room for wii's graphics to get better, with the right inclusions of middleware, which is whats happening now.I can see something like this giving people high expectations, essentially over exaggerating what the Wii can do. well its good you can can acknowledged that, but you also help me realize that the gamecube was a great hardware and it wasnt tapped into like it should have been. it also help me to realize what else it would have been capable of it if had dedicated third parties, who wanted to see what the hardware was truly capable of like with the xbox. conker was ok looking, but that was one of my example of games that had iffy frame rates. its fact that most xbox games couldnt sustain its frame rates as well as gamecube cames could.[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"][QUOTE="darkspineslayer"][QUOTE="Egghead360"]Cant wait kids...
