Sorry but the wii might be selling consoles but what is the point if nobody is buying games?

nobody? do you have a lack of long term memory? the wii is 3rd this week in the US. and it was 1st 2 weeks ago. Seems this is more based on game releases than anything else. also keep in mind that the 360 has more users in the US than the wii. worldwide the wii sells more consoles and hardware. (because 360 in japan is dead)

The 360 is only leading in software sales because of the extra year. If you count only the first half of this year's software sales, you get this:

01. NDS Pokemon Diamond Version
02. Wii Play w/ Remote
03. NDS Pokemon Pearl Version
04. PS2 God of War II
05. PS2 Guitar Hero 2 w/ Guitar
06. 360 Guitar Hero 2 w/ Guitar
07. Wii Mario Party 8
08. 360 Crackdown
09. NDS Diddy Kong Racing
10. Wii Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess

Only two 360 games in the top 10 in sales from Jan 2007 to June 2007. That's not really outselling the Wii in software. Man, these MS fanboys are funny. They get one good month of sales and suddenly they think it translates to their system having incredible software sales throughout the year. At least keep up with the NPD numbers or else don't talk about sales at all.

The odd thing is that nearly every single post so far has been just changing the subject. The TC is right and software sales generate higher revenue and profit percentage anyway.

When are you counting the total game sales? Since the launch of the 360? Since the start of this year? Or are you really falling for MS spin and going by last November? Because if you are going by MS' spin, that's pretty sad numbers considering that most software sales come during the holiday season and MS had to combine those against two consoles that launched at the end of November in order to inflate the numbers into looking impressive. If they're relying on such data manipulation, then software really must not be selling well as everyone thinks.

No software? Let me clarify:

1. Wii has had probably at least two pieces of software in the top ten list of the NPD (or more, as seen last month) since it's release. Poor software sales? I think not.

2.The 360 has had a year's headstart, which also means a year's headstart in software.

3.It's still outselling the 360, and since the Wii came out a year later than the 360, that's a pretty amazing feat.

The Wii has an excellent attach rate for a system only 10 months old. It's over 4 games per console. How much 360 software was sold in that system's first 10 months? A LOT less than the Wii has sold.

Well even if you divided the 360's software sales by Half (which is probably more than it actually sold in that year giving the low hardware sales up until the holiday last year) it's still a decent chunk less than the Wii. The fact that the Wii has sold a little over2/3s of the games the 360 has in half the time is depressing anyway you cut it.
