Um not really. Megadeth came back from the Risk album and band break up to produce three more kick A$$ albums. Metallica now just tries to make it on their brand name and not the quality of their music.DarthmattONE bad album, everyone is perfect right:|
Megadeth are one of those few bands who have NEVER sold out

Do they earn money from CD's sold? From tours? Do they have t-shirts and other items you can buy with their band name plastered over it?
Then yes, they are sell outs.

Nothing wrong with selling other things long as your main business stays true to its nature. Just like James, Nintendo probably designed Wii IN rehab;)1. Load and Reload aren't similar to St. Anger.
2. I like St. Anger better than any Megadeth album.
Iyethar
1. Load, Reload and St Anger suck donkey arse, and they also sold out to the kids. See whats similar now?
2. If you dont like Megadeth then you dont deserve to listen to any music

Should I type slower?
A sell-out is someone who accepts money for something they created.
The second Dave Mustaine, or anyone else from the group accepts money for the art they created, they become sell-outs.

That isn't a sell out. So allmusicians are sell outs?
Selling out is more like abandgoing from real metal to crap nu-metal or metalcorejust to get more sales and be more mainstream.darklord888
Metalcore indeed sucks, thats all rock is nowadays, all random screaming crap with two power chords over and over again:cry:

Naw, selling out is when you endlessly rehash your own sound because you know that it will sell again and again. Like Megadeth.

Yes, all musicians are sellouts, except for those who don't make money from playing music.
There's nothing wrong with being a sellout, people just seem to have an incorrect definition of what it means to be a sellout.

Are you serious?? The first 4 Metallica albums are better than anything Megadeth has done or will do. Ever. And I actually like Megadeth but this is blasphemy!!Blommen
Metallica's first albums were great, but all of the songs are really overplayed. I don't enjoy the albums anymore after hearing the same songs over and over again on radio.
Rust in Piece hasn't been played too much and that's why I love it.
Wow... this is weird System Wars.
I can't believe anyone would put Megadeth above Metallica. Metallica was after all where Dave Mustain got his start and was kicked out because he just didn't cut it. Every time after he was kicked out he continued to speak badly about the guy who replaced him, Kirk Hammet. Don't get me wrong I like a couple of their songs but their glory days are no where near the glory days of Metallica.BumFluff122Dude im talking about the period where they sold out and sucked bad
