Why would you assume you would not be able to download new songs for the Wii version.
I hardly think GH is about graphics.
Did you even see what the video was?

Why would you assume that it there would be DL's?? There is NO confirmation from Nintendo themselves that the WIi can or WILL ever do that. The VC is just the VC. There is ONLY 1.2 gig memory on the Wii, it is just too insane to expect it. And knowing Nintendo, they WON'T.
Anyways, it's just some Homebrew thing, but like GH for DS, it isn't why I bought a Wii or DS.
I want the Wii-motes to be used in innovative ways, If I wanted GH, I have had that option available for over 2 years on PS2...I don't need my newly purchased Wii to be getting even more PS2/PSP ports.

I'll believe it when it happens, which I would wager would be never. Anyways, this is a PS2 game, the Wii isn't needed to play a game like GH, I want NEW Experiences with the Wii, not old 2 year ports of PS2 games.

An mp3 file averages roughly 4 MB. The Wiis internal mem could therefore hold over 100 songs. Also, the Wii can read off the SD Card in game. Excite Truck allows you to make your own soundtrack and reads it off the card; GH could do the same thing.

If they find a NON-Gimmicky way to play with the Wiimotes for the Wii GH, then that's great. But I doubt they wiill, In the end, people will play it the way they do on PS2, which is exactly what I DID NOT buy a Wii for, the PS2 experience.
But it sounds cool, even if it's just a bunch of ACTIVISION PR, but I'll see soon enough.

Bear in mind, that you cannot use the 1/2 only for GH. You need some for the Wii OS, Some for other Wii Programs such as Mii's, of course room for VC games.
SO it really does come down to purchasing a SD card, but the tech for that is there, provided you buy the SD card, making GH more expensive now than the other Versions...UNLESS GH comes with a SD card. Which it probably won't.
Still, it can be done, but the GC Could have went Online, yet it didn't. What can be done, and what actually happens are two different things when it comes to Nintendo Tech.
In the end, I have to ask myself, did I wait until November 2006, to buy a Wii, so I could wait till November 2007 to buy a 3 year old game series...I could have bought on the PS2? I would rather play Wii-Specific Games.

We'll see what they can do with the Wii controls. You never know, they might actually surprise us with something innovative. Also, IGN did a podcast and mentioned Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii and 360. This is what they said: Guitar Hero 3 - They know a lot. Bozon is more excited about the Wii version more than the 360 version. Wii could have the best. Bozon spoke about new info twice and Matt edited both times (they aren't suppose to talk about it). IGN Podcast Here's a summary of the podcast: Gamefaqs Message Board link It's possibly they're doing some great things for the Wii version. LOL.
Look, they made the first game on PS2 YEARS BEFORE THE Wii was even called a Wii or Revolution, it was always a PS2 series. Understand that.
The Wii version, IF IT PLAYS THE SAME AS THE PS2 version, isn't a Wii Game...TO ME. I want Motion Control, Non-multiplatform Wii games. It is possible the motion control, if on the Wii version, won't just be tacked on or be gimmicky. But only time will tell.
There is a MUCH Larger Possibility that it will play just like the series always has, As a GH hero Game, and for the Wii, that's UNNACCEPTABLE.
I want my $250 dollar Wii to bring on New Types of Game Play....GET IT. I haven't changed my message, but you just didn't read what I was SAYING. READ IT OVER AND OVER TILL YOU GET IT.

This isn't a thread about 360/PS3, but I don't like PORTS AT ALL, I do complain about that ALL THE TIME.
The Wii is even more a problem as I bought it to OFFER ME A UNIQUE GAMEPLAY ALTERNATIVE FROM THE 360 and PS3. If the games on Wii play the same, but with crappier graphics and options, why DID I BUY A Wii. GET it?
Well maybe wii owners who didn't get to play it might want to try it.one4damoney
Oh, you are right, that's the money making logic of ACTIVISION to be sure, but My question is...
"Where the hell have they been?" and honestly, Wii owners didn't buy a Wii to play games that people can play on other consoles.
But Yeah, I did think of that, and It will sell okay, but my problem is it sends a message to other Developers not to make EXCLUSIVE Wii games...which in the long run doesn't seem to be a great thing for any Wii owner.
I am thinking of the future here.
I see where your going, but there's just more more profit in multiplatform games. Thats why most games this gen will be crossing different platforms.

there more but since you got a problem with ports WHEN ALL CONSOLE GET IT than you shouldnt be gaming in first place
talk to developers its not "our choice"

I have a question.
Who in their right mind is going to be staring at the characters while trying to play the notes. Graphics mean absolutely jack all in games like this, not to mention the art style and character design cant really improve any more without becoming a photorealistic game, which would wind up cutting the amount of space that can be used for songs. Also the Wii version could easily out do the PS2 version for graphics and it will have all the same features as the 360 and PS3 version I can guarantee that. Of course to download songs you would need a SD card, but a 4 GB one of those can be had for very little money. I hope that the songs are free on the Wii and PS3 versions, I dont feel like being milked of more money, but we can leave it to the lemmings to get ripped off for the same songs. And GH3 is multiplat, not a port n00b.

You are very young, and I can't continue to waste my time with you, you don't know where to begin or end, and I can't even start to make enough points here. I am trying to teach you something, and you are debating that. I can't help you. Sorry.
I can tell you I have played all those games, and most of those are mediocre to barely good(With the exception of Nintendo's games of course). I do own Nintendo's Zelda and Super Paper Mario though (Even those are Great GC games...modded for Wii, but still great at least). I am thinking of the overall problem of 3rd party games being weak on Nintendo Console Platforms....and furthermore the Wii isn't like any console before it, so IT NEEDS NEW GAMES to DIFFERENTIATE THEMSELVES FROM THE PACK, something GH probably won't do.

No, YOU didn't buy a Wii to play games that can be played on other consoles. Many people may have just a Wii, and they'll gladly play things that are on other consoles.
Also, does it really bother you that much that this game is coming to the Wii? It's not like they're making you buy it, so why are you so whiny about the fact that a game you never have to play is coming to the system? Is it because it sends a bad message to other developers? The other developers that have already brought over last gen games with new controls?
Just quit complaining and don't buy the game. Also, get your definition of a port right. It can't be ported if it hasn't been released on anything yet. Guitar Hero 1 on Wii? Port. Guitar Hero 2 on Wii? Port. Guitar Hero 3 on Wii? New multi-platform game. Get it right.

So instead of trying to prove me wrong, you just make a completely irrelevant point that has little to do with my post (which you probably didn't read).
Also, "that GH games looks great on the Wii"? Mind informing me about what you're talking about, because it makes no sense.
Also, anyone who doesnt play multiplatform games must really have a small collection to choose from, I mean last gen we had multiplatform games that were great like Tales of Symphonia and Resident Evil 4 for the PS2 and Gamecube and now games that can be played on every platform are getting just that, the first being Guitar Hero 3 where you wont find a huge difference in either game, they will all pretty much have the same number of songs, although the PS3 version could have twice as many, but the Wii and 360 both use DVD discs up to 9 GB's so I dont see how those two could have any more or less songs then the other if they actually use up all the space. The only version that might not have online content will be the PS2 one, which would kind of suck because I have GH2 and a controller for it and I really would like all the same content as the other platforms (I have USB pens coming out the wazoo to store songs on as well).DSgamer64
The Wii is different then last gen. Arguement NULLED.
Anyways, RE4 AND Tales of Symphony were originally exclusive, so when I bought those there weren't issues, SINCE I KNEW THEY WERE OPTIMIZED FOR Wii.
The Wii is so different, and I know that the money could be used to create new and wonderful games for the Wii instead of multiplats.
The Wii simply wasn't designed for multiplats. If those become huge, then we won't get the full potential out of another Nintendo Console.
Your title is a little misleading. You should probably say that the video is of a home brew guitar app for the Wii-mote.hellsing321Yeah. It's a PC user modding, using the wii remote basically. And the console people in this forum like to say they don't like mods. So nobody here wants this either, apparently. I personally think it's bloody awesome.

"Where the hell have they been?" and honestly, Wii owners didn't buy a Wii to play games that people can play on other consoles.
Blah, Blah, Blah. Another case of the emporer's new Clothes...yeah, that GH games looks great on the Wii. Okay, buddy.
So instead of trying to prove me wrong, you just make a completely irrelevant point that has little to do with my post (which you probably didn't read).

IT was a reference to a Nintendo Styled Robe with GH as the GARB. Look, anything that can be played on PS3 and 360 the same way is a PORT. That's that. I already stated many things about this throughout the thread. Wii owners should want and I DEF. Want Wii specific GAMES. Designed for the Wii, to be AAA, and amazing. These kinds of games are the opposite of what Wii owners should be wanting.

I'll say it again. It's the opposite of what YOU want. Some people may have a Wii because it's the cheapest, or just because it's Nintendo. You happen to have it because you want and expect a unique experience, and those games are out there right now. Trauma Center (on the DS, but definitely more fun on the Wii), Excite Truck, Elebits, WW: Smooth Moves, and others that I am sure I am forgetting. Are they all AAA here? No, only 1 is. Does that mean they're bad? Definitely not. I own them all and they're all fantastic games IMO.
Besides, there are people out there who definitely want this. I know someone personally with a Wii that can't wait for GH3 to come, because he has never owned a GH game himself, and the possibilities of controlling the Wii version are much more interesting than that of the other versions (it could be, or it could be exactly the same). If I get to play using the guitar with Wiimote-type sensibility allowing for different movements affecting my gameplay, than yes, it would be unique, and I want it.
I am gonna stop there.
