How about you respond to the post instead of being a complete coward by doing nothing but throwing around insults?

Is it THAT hard for you to engage in a discussion? If it is then next time you see a post you dont agree with instead of responding how about you just leave when you dont have anything of substance to say? I would recommend actually responding to the content of the post.....this is a discussion board after all...so ... discuss.

I would love to, but I filled my quota for beating my head against the wall at work earlier today.

The mere fact that you refuse to acknowledge that the PS3 and 360 are capable of things the Wii isn't capable of is a big red flag.

I can readily acknowledge that the ps3/360 can do things the wii cant.....like super hi-res textures, tons of bump/normal mapping and various shader effects.

But that doesnt mean that the wii cant make the same GAMES that those systems can; it would just have to downgrade the graphics. Insted of super hi-res textures they will have to use lower res textures and other things of that sort.

But those systems cannot do the things that wii does because their method of control does not have motion sensing abilities on the level of the wii.

So you can see as many "red flags" as you want but the fact of the matter is that when it comes to GAMEPLAY, what determines whether or not something is a game, the wii can simply do a whole lot more and it can do things that those systems cannot.

This would be true if graphics were only used for making things look prettier... but with technological advancements come other things... such as allowing more units to be on screen which each have individual intelligence, physics, environmental and situational awareness, etc. Technological advancements do not solely bring better graphics to the table... they also bring considerable gameplay enhancements.  Consider a game like Dynasty Warriors.  That game sucks.  All the soldiers have the intelligence of an ant.  Now, imagine the concept of Dynasty Warriors done properly on the 360 or the PS3, where each system has situational awareness, individual awareness, physics, etc.  Suddenly, Dynasty Warriors becomes an exponentially better game.

 Why would you show a screen shot from a game that came out over 3 years ago?!

Graphics can make things look prettier is one way of looking at it but I wouldn't consider that a "red flag" per se.

Thats precisely my point right there...you think that's all they can do.

I'm with Teufelhuhn on this one PS3/360 offers better A.I. and physics which can greatly enhance the game. However, most developers refuse to acknowlege this and take the easy presentation route, while some like Capcom create games like Dead Rising truly showing the systems potential.

[QUOTE="DSgamer64"]I should remind the fanboys here that so far the Halo 3 beta looks like it could be done on a computer from 2 years ago graphics wise, its not that great. Dont forget about Warhawk, which looks graphically on the level of Unreal Tournament 2004, which is almost 4 years old. May I remind folks that Smash Bros Brawl's site gets updated 5 daysa week and the graphics have yet to change, just means that the game is going to look great. Galaxy is far from being done, or at least new screens have not been shown in a while.OpiateE

Warhawk is a Download game, correct me if im wrong? Halo 3 beta, did you play it? because i thought it looked better than most 360 titles, it wasnt trying to be gears of war, and it was multiplayer.

actually, that halo beta 3 looked really bad, i felt like i was playing halo 2 with a few touch ups, the only thing that impressed me was that water effect that they used, idk but i think gears of war is way more superior than that.

Ditto on that. The gameplay was pretty good, although I am not a big fan of console FPS's, as I like the faster pace of a game like Unreal Tournament which is shaping up to be the best FPS game this year imo, although mainly for multiplayer, single player has never been UT's strong point. I think Halo 3 will be a good game, but lemmings seem to hype it to hell and back, yes its one of the better console FPS franchises on the market, but its not nearly as good as PC shooters and I think its overrated because of it. Seriously, Halo 3 Beta looks a lot like UT2004 in my opinion, it just doesnt have a huge amount of detail, although that could also be the art style, Unreal has always gone for a flashier look with far more contours and the body armor on characters is far more intricate and complex. A lot of the vehicles in Halo 3 Beta look like they just had black paint dabbled on them to look more detailed or something and it was a big let down. As far as single player games though, Halo 3 will be the best for consoles, but UT3 is going to waltz all over it for multiplayer.

A.I is all based on coding and takes very little power to make smart enemie, physics can be done better on a video card that has a better physics engine.Nintendo games dont always have uber fancy physics for the most part anyway. I think Nintendo needs to step up their AI though in a lot of games, Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario had rediculously stupid enemies who were weak.

This is another dagger from the article. Its hard to argue with the author.

"Nintendo isn't trying to get the attention of true gamers."

I have to agree with this post.
