To counter they would have to release a game as big as Super Smash Bros. If MGS4 would have released this month it actually might have been even in sales.

I think it's really funny how Gamespot points out in the title how Nintendo specifically beat Sony......but X360 is just a footnote in the whole article.

If i remember right the PS3 has a gimmicky pad aswell!! They did attempt to rip off the Wii with sensors in the pad now didnt they!! OOPIES as per usual Sony fail at ripping off Ninty.

Sony need good games to sell for people to wanna buy one!! Gran Turismo 5 is the only thing of intrest at the moment to me and many of the friends which i have.

No MGS game broke the one million sales, HSG and Dynasty Warriors did, and neither of those months was PS3 able to beat Wii.

If the PS3 was being given away i could not see it catching Nintendo. Theres no quality games specifically for the PS3 theyre mostly Multi platform games. Sony should look at catching up with the Xbox rather than looking to catch up with the Wii.

I got a PS3 and am a Sony fan (not fanboy), but I admit that Wii sales has been great every month... Good job Nintendo, and though I have no interest in Wii, I still have respect for that console...

I enjoy games on my PS3 so as long as this year's line-up wont be hit by delays I am a proud owner and Wii selling better on a monthly basis is not in my interests...

Besides, anyone with any common sense knows that the reason the Wii is selling good is because of the audience it's aimed towards. The price tag is a big factor as well, even though that itself if overpriced considering you're not getting things in which should be standard in a "Next-Generati-, oh excuse me, "New" Generation Console". You know, DVD playback? HD? Because of its lack of "power", it misses out on all the great multiplatform games. Think at how even more great SMG would have been if the Wii was more "powerful".

i dont think they were being biased, cause im sure as most people should already know on this forum that the 360 is on life support in japan, so the wii outselling is not really a story.

but the Wii outselling a sony brand 4-1 in japan (which was previously called sonyland for the last 2 generations) now thats newsworthy

I've been surfing these forums just for entertainment purposes recently lol. But now I had to register just to reply to this cuz it's so ridiculous. MGS2 sold 9 million copies. And if you look at the wishlist on Gamespot for MGS4 its 30k, and the wishlist for GOW2 is only 8k people. Given GOW1 sold about 4 million copies, and if that much more people on gamespot want MGS4 you can bet your buns itll sell atleast 5 mil.

And you said earlier than no MGS game sold more than a million before and that's completely ridiculous. You dont know what you are talking about.

It's amusing that they said the Wii outsold the PS3 4-1, because that means they outsold 360 by 5-1. The PS3 has beaten the 360 in sales in every country this past holiday (www.vgchartz.com) by a longshot, even in the U.S.
