Okay lets say Nintendo does get more support, that still doesn't benefit the consumer. For example, as I mentioned earlier EA and Ubi are supporting the wii but the titles they put out are crap. Now tell me how that's beneficial to the consumer? Why should devs spend time, effort, and money tocreate quality 3rd party titles when they can just make crap that will appeal to non gamer consumersseeing ashow they make up the majority of wii sales. It's all about quality, and I ain't seeing that!

CB4McGusto

ok...then why did people even bother developing for the PS2 last gen? there were tons of casuals/non-gamers who owned a PS2, and yet there were still plenty of quality 3rd party titles

You're arguing in circles. Quality support arises out of the competition resulting from many players in the market.

Just because they say it doesn't make it true. Its a game console, its in competition with other game consoles. Nintendo likes to try and change all the rules, with their "market disruptions" and "new gen, not next gen" talk. Its all just PR BS. Basically, they're trying to emulate Apple, and their "think different" slogan of the last decade. The Wii even looks like an Apple product.

WheresMyChippy

Oh wake up, now your going against their word because you don't agree with it. I'm sorry but I'll take the word of a company over some guy in a gaming forum. Besides if what you say is true then prove Nintendo wrong, show me how Nintendo isn't marketing towards the market they "said" they were after.

So far all I get is a bunch of assumptions. Things change and you can't compare the wii success to the ps2's, psone's, Snes, and NES because they all did something different each gen. Whatever you wii consumers who aren't benefiting off your purchases can continue to assume and I'll continue to benefit off another console purchase.

The only thing you can do is assume that Wii will get better third party support. This hasn't been the case so far.dracula_16

Yeah, didn't everybody know? The developers are still shifting focus.

I didn't go against their words, what are you talking about? Are you trying to tell me the Wii is some extra special game console that doesn't count as a regular game console, and thus isn't in competition with other game consoles? So they have a lot of family friendly games, hurrah, so have other consoles. PS2 had TONS of games for casuals and families, but you didn't see them with commercials showing old people playing PS2.

Its just Nintendo's marketing slant. They're after the same gamers that the PS3 and 360 are after, but they're also more aggressively going after casual gamers. It doesn't magically put the Wii in its own category. Nintendo says it does because thats their PR BS. The same way Apple would like to make you think the Mac is more than just a computer. Its not.

See? You were never really looking for a real answer. I don't know why I bothered to reply at all. I'd fare better talking to a brick wall.

It's called economics... perhaps you shold look into takeing a few classes about it...

Then you might understand the laws of supply and demand...

Or how about I just sum up a year of econ for you)

When demand increases supply increases

Demand for the Wii is up... Supply goes... you should know the rest.

What is the point of this topic? Why do you feel that you have to insult Wii owners?

You say you can't win with sheep. What would you consider winning?

Well, when Brawl comes out there'll be more people to play online with!! Plus, if it sells more, supposedly, the more it sells the more games will be developed for it the more chance of some pretty sweet games coming out! So there.

True--those would be some great benefits. I've watched Nintendo lose two console wars already.

Prolly cuz its long :P

I read it, but it basically boils down to what everyone else has been saying: Wii is getting a lot of support and the more consoles it sells the more support it will get, and the quality level will rise. Apparently this fact of economics is inadequate for the OP. I guess Nintendo is supposed to send everyone a plaque that says, "Thanks for buying the Wii. You're Winner!"

Too many questions, title is a question, the rest of the post has about 6 questions.

You are doing this because you are a Wii hater.

CB4McGusto

Are you assuming this, or is that a fact? :P

Or maybe you just don't want to answer my question. :|

Fact: On these boards you come across as a blow-hard.

I'm also assuming that in real life you're not very smart or well-liked.

Quit trying to make yourself feel better about droping $600 on a PS3 and get a life.

i think we all just need to accept that the wii will always out sell ps3 and 360 because their targeting f-ing toddlers and casual people, and the last time i checked there are more kids and non gamers than there are gamers.  nintendo has turned into a crappy game company, but is profiting off of it from thier casual games.  so technically, nintendo is both the worst and the best game company out now at the same time.       :/

That would be so awsome if they sen't out a Wii message like that.

Wii selling alot didnt do anything positive for most gamers. It just casualized video gaming.

Most of the most anticipated games for me would not even come on the Wii anyways

my guess is publishers will make more games to be released on the Wii because of it's larger install base. Therefor the drive for the 'betterment' of video games as it relates to graphical advances or physics will roll along slower than if a higher end console was the king.

Didn't I say that in my last post? It's okay for you to use the argument to fit into your take on the subject, yet you blow me off(not literally:P ) when I use it because it is a disaproval for your console of choice.

Nope, I'm talking about games like Bioshock, Mass Effect, GTA4, and RE5. I frankly won't want those games on Wii, and they wouldnt go on Wii anyways, can't handle it.

Your right and I agree I wouldn't want that either. But I do like Wii games, and im not causal...I think people throw that term around way to much.
