What they recieved was a PS2 engine using redesigned Gamecube featuring a waggle stick, that is what the Wii as in a nutshell.

You know undeniably missing out on engines such as Crygengine 3, Unreal 3, Frostbite, and so on in essence means you mixed out on nex gen engines and gaming as a whole.

The Wii was never a current a gen console it was a last gen one but with a new controller.

Unfortunately Nintendo didn't invest the slightest of any $ to make the graphics even slightly better than the Gamecube.

Show me one game on the Wii that even comes close to the Xbox game, Conker visually without having to resort to cel shading to lower the frames per second hit.

The Wii missed out on current gen trends such as a true online game service that is full of community featues and offers a vast array of stores and services to tinker with.

Wii offers no features that really would've seperated apart from any last console visually, and as a whole.

360/PS3 did enough to justify them being true successors by showing us games that if done on a Wii power equivalent console would be utter crap.

Imagine if Gears of War looked like this..

Todays hits would have been held back.

The no hard drive, no online service to actually be proud, of and everso game deserted Wii was only saved by packaging Wii sports.

The Wii is pretty much what the Gamecube should have been and the Wii U will be what the Wii should have been THIS gen.

I own a Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 and I would argue that irrational Wii haters missed out on tons of amazing, hidden gems because of superficial nonsense.

i don't think they missed out.

if they cared about that they would have gotten the systems that prioritized that and enjoyed them all for what they did well.

Yet, they are disregarded because they have Nintendo's name on it.

funny how a lot of 360/ps3 gamers say this when most wii owners own one of those two, while they don't own a wii. So uh, whos really missing out here?

The Wii has a negative effect on your gaming, so that just owning it can detract from your experiences of playing the HD consoles, so obviously, just owning a Wii along with an HD twin diminishes your gaming experiences this gen. Duh.

To be honest, something similar can be said about owning one console in previous gens.

And you missed out on all the great Wii exclusives. It's a pretty cheap console, no real reason not to own one unless you despise Nintendo games for whatever reason.

Let me tell you what sheep told me 4 years ago: "Released during current gen, hence a current gen system."

It was always funny hearing sheep say that, especially when nearing the wii's launch, nintendo's president was quoted as saying "Nintendo is not working on a next-generation console"

Actually, owning a Wii has brought me some of the best gaming experiences this gen. Nintendo's first party is still the champion of consistantly brilliant level design which is something that is timeless as well as effected little by technology.

Next gen in a sense of "not being caught up to current gen specs?" I believe that is what he meant.

Nothing better to do than make yet another Nintendo hate thread eh?

Nintendo has the best first party, and you're insecure about liking Mario and such. We've heard it all before mate.

Carry on then.

Games like Mario Galaxy had awesome graphics. I think much of the graphics problems were the developers.1st party titles seem to be decent.

I think the Wii was a hybid generation. I really do wish the Wii didn't get watered down multiplats.

It did indeed. It's very rare to play any Wii game that rises above PS2 standards for gameplay. (I'm leaving graphics out of it since that ones done to death) Happy with Nintendo games as always (albeit would be happier with HD graphics, proper online and achievements) but screw 3rd party, barring a tiny handful what did they do that wasn't done better on PS2.

I was hinting 'next-gen gaming' as pc, since you focus your argument so much on graphics. And the 'vast array of stores and services to tinker with' are on pc and not ps3/360.

Honestly if you just owned a Wii then you missed out on a lot of games and online gaming. If you include the multiplatform games between the PS3 and 360 that don't appear on the Wii, the list of awesome games Wii owners are missing out on is huge.

Well, it had to come eventually so might as well just be me. PC pwns all, you can play everything in the best possible way. And for those 360 fanboys, yes I have a 360 controller but no 360. This because I can and I will enjoy my games in the highest resolution and no loadtimes. And no I am no elitist, just stating the obvious. I own a ps3 which is nice for exclusives (and pretty much only that) but when it comes to consoles Nintendo is the only one doing their own thing, Mario etc. Which rocks. Of course you always have emulators for that, and you can also get wii controllers for PC should you feel like waving your hands around. Only thing I miss is the 360 exclusives and I think I can manage in this life without Allan Wake and Gears of War.

They didn't shrug it off. Wii-U took the main stage along with the 3DS. That's bigger and more important news. There were plenty of games announced/shown at E3, yet the media ignored anything that wasn't Skyward Sword.

[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"]

[QUOTE="Zlychop"] So tell us, what games are coming out from now till Spring next year on the Wii, aside from SS?Zlychop

Exclusives, multiplat, or both?

Any that you would consider to actually be atleast A quality.

Exclusive:

Fortune Street, Mario Party 9, Inazuma Eleven 2012, Fatal Frame 2 (Remake,) The Last Story (EU/AU,) Pandora's Tower (EU/AU,) The Grinder (Needs a publisher,) and Fishing Resort (for teh lulz.)

Multiplat:

Mario and Sonic Olympic Games 2012 (Should've been reviewed by now,) NFS: The Run, PES 2012, WWE '12, Adventures of Tin-Tin, The Amazing Spider-Man, Cabela's Survival: Shadows of Katmai, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: E2, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Men in Black.

I've only looked through Gamespot's list, which doesn't seem to be working half the time. Ignored quite a few titles because they were shovelware or didn't have a release date on GS's page. There's still a lot more to list for multiplats, and I'm still searching for exclusives. Reggie said the Wii isn't done yet and Nintendo still has titles in development for them also.

I'm not going to defend that lineup though. Nintendo released their quality Wii titles this year and now have nothing for the time frame you wanted. Some developers jumped ship to Wii-U already, which has a vastly better lineup more suited to the so called "core" crowd.
